AEG Ready to Fork Over $90,000 --- Today

7/31/2009 2:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

AEGUPDATE: TMZ has learned AEG has dropped off the $90,000 to the L.A. Police Foundation -- as promised.

We're told part of the money will go to build a memorial for fallen officers in front of the new police headquarters in downtown L.A.

AEG
is finally putting its money where its mouth is -- saying they will follow through with their promise to donate money raised at the Michael Jackson memorial to the L.A. Police Foundation.

The timing couldn't be more impeccable, considering we broke a story yesterday that the L.A. City Attorney was investigating AEG for not forking over the money.

According to the LA Times, the company plans to make a $90,000 donation today from money made on the sale of 18 suites for the July 7th memorial at the Staples Center.

As we first reported, the L.A. City Attorney is investigating AEG for holding out on the donation -- and they believe AEG should pay for sanitation, transportation, street services and LAPD protection expenses, an amount which is estimated to go into the 7 figures.

Well, heck!! I heard the chef Chi speak yesterday for the first time. I believed her to be truthful, yet now that I have listened to her two more times and she seems to be changing what she was previously said with each new interview. And her need to embellish details is clearly evident. What a bummer, no person who was around Michael Jackson seems to have enough integrity to just tell it like it is regardless of how it reflects on Michael, others, or themselves.

I don't know about AEG as a corporation, but The Anschutz family are highly esteemed in my state. I suspect as far as Michael's death it will never be resolved to the satisfaction of most people. As far as Dr. Tohme Tohme goes, it appears to me that the security at Michael's Holmby Hills home were Muslims. Dr. Tohme said he disliked Muslims and fired them all but from the pictures it appears he was not truthful. Furthermore, from all I have read about the deal he set up with Colony Capital, it appears they now own Neverland, if not owing it outright then Michael's percentage is very slight. They too, have ownership of the items stored for auction since they put up the money to stop the auction. Everyone lies and lies about even the most minute details. I think it would be wise for Jermaine Jackson to remain in the Middle East because he has a whole lot of questions to answer as to why he worked so hard to get Michael involved with Tohme and Barrack. Many of the stars would be better off remembering "if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch," because no one is out for anyone except themselves, and all people are considered expendable given the right time and enough money.

You are correct. Another silly big government gesture. Find ways to waste money you don't even have yet.

As far a AEG is concerned, they are going to make a ton of money off of MIchael's death. They will sell the rehearsal footage and maybe even package a memorial DVD that will make a ton of money. I wonder how much of that the city will see. It's not like any of these people couldn't pay it off. The bill was roughly 4 million dollars. Hell, Debbie Rowe could pay the bill.

Most likely the city will have to eat this though. If the Jackson or AEG were to pay off the bill, then it would seem like they are paying the city for favors. The city was in the act of a public service; keeping down crowds, traffic, public safety and sanitation. If people had gathered without the city being involved, it would have been a nightmare. See Freaknik 1994, Atlanta GA.

This is apart from what they owe the city for security for the memorial, I live in LA and with city services being cut they need to pay every penny they owe. This was an event just like any other event they hold at LA Live and Staples, that they contract with the city to provide special services for. They sold space to every media enity that was there, audio, video and still photo and they sold the rights to broadcast the memorial ( that was not free to the networks folks. They made and are making plenty off of they and they need to pay their portion of the bill for the services rendered, the Jackson's need to pay the balance.

The $90,000 is just the amount of revenue made from the suites and items sold at the memorial which AEG said they would donate to the fund. No, I do not believe it would be a good thing for the city of LA, to pay the bill for the memorial. Doing so would bring into being the necessity of doing likewise for any and all personalities. What criteria would they use to determine who is worthy and who isn't? The city could never, ever, handle the costs since a plan would entail. It isn't a good thing.

seeking the truth

why haven't they sent out concert tickets out yet to the fans who chose that option? when according to Randy they were already printed, but the company only got the contract hours before Michael died... see here... http://www.graphicartsonline.com/article/CA6673527.html?desc=topstory

I don't understand the first gig was 13th July and if the tickets were already printed then where are they?????!!!!!!! Well it was all a lie they were printed, what they'll do though is probably give people the memorial prog(as the same company made it) and people will forget the BIG LIE RANDY TOLD ABOUT THE TICKETS ALREADY BEING PRINTED FOR THE FIRST FEW SHOWS, NO THEY WERE NOT! AEG ROT IN HELL! They've just been sitting on the money for interest. Its also funny they release more tickets to buy the day before MJ died... This was a well planned murder all along and the doctor is the fall guy who will do a bit of time possibly(if the police haven't messed up the chance of getting any evidence by leaving it so long!) and he'll then live off money abroad under a new identity and then in 20 years time there will be tv progs on about 'Michael Jackson, was he really murdered?'
