Triumphant Return ... to Burbank

8/5/2009 11:02 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

After nearly 5 months in North Korean captivity, journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee finally returned to Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California.

North Korean Journalists Triumphant Return

The photo on the right was taken moments after Laura was reunited with her sister, former "View" host Lisa Ling. The women hadn't seen their families since March.

The two women flew in on a private jet, reportedly owned by movie producer Steve Bing, who happens to be a close personal friend of Bill Clinton -- the man who talked 5'3" Kim Jong-il into releasing Laura and Euna.

So glad they are home. Now maybe we can find out what they were doing, why and ultimately what it cost us to get them back. Girls - lets not do stupid things in the future. Lesson learned?

14. #7...do you know how many security people aer involved with Clinton?? And who do you suppose PAYS for all that Security? Yeah...you and me..the taxpayers..so yes it did cost us a small fortune for Billy Boy to go over there for this photo Op. If you really think Billy talked Kim Jong-il into releasing these women, you are so out of touch with the real world...

And since when did America start negotiating with terrorists??

Oh, so tough guy, you'd always rather pick war than attempt to successfully negotiate for their release? oh how brilliant of you.

Well if anyone could pull this off, it would be Bill Clinton. When he announced he was running for President in November 1991, no one thought this guy had any chance of defeating President Bush. But, he managed to pulled it off and prove to his critics otherwise.

John Galt for President 2012

Whats next? Did Billy give each of the girls a cigar or two to celebrate on the way home?

One thing is almost certain - millions of dollars were probably sent to a North Korean Swiss Bank account. Al Gore is worth north of $100,000,000 - thanks to his global warming shilling. My guess is about $5 million each.

Next up? Will Billy pay to retrieve the 3 morons who were hiking along the Iranian border and were arrested? Billy better get that jet refueled for his trip to Tehran.

Did Billy buy carbon credit for his jet from Al Gore?

I find myself wishing Brit4brains and Blohan would go on a tour of North Korea! Or Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, or any of the other 'stan' countries!

you must stupid

You people are missing the entire point. Obama doesn't think he's dealing with terrorists, he believes that we're the terrorists. It's liberal insanity like this that is destroying this country at a record pace.

Glad they made it back in one piece. Guess who else is going to hold out for a visit from someone with serious international standing sent by the White House.....the status mad Iranian President. Sworn in for second term this morning, the little man will be looking for some major grandstanding to strengthen his power base before releasing the reported US citizens who supposedly wandered into Iran whilst counting the cactus along the Iraqi border. Iran might up the anti and hold out for Michelle Obama before releasing the cactus gazers. Watch Ahmadinejad create an international crisis as he throws his toys out of his pram. Anything to try to silence the opposition objecting to the presidential election. Nasty.

Welcome Home Laura and Euna! God Bless You and God Bless Your Families!

P.S. You are far stronger than any of the nay-sayers on this site. They would probably be a bunch of cry-babies if locked up for but one day in North Korea.

While I am glad there was a happy ending (you always get a happy ending with Asians), I think these women are pigs if they profit $1 from this event. I don't want to see a book, special interviews or a speaking tour to promote their stupidity. Why isn't Obama calling them out for acting STUPIDLY.

Don't get me wrong, I am VERY happy these ladies are home safe, BUT had they been one of us poor slobs who aren't related to someone famous or if we didn't work for Al Gore or some other well known politician or "important person", or God forbid one of OUR kids...do you think the US would have gone to all this trouble? Oh, SURE they would have!

Must be nice to have friends in high places.

What the US has done is IMHO at least, negotiated with terrorists - at the very least a communist country with a totally crazy leader who wants to shoot missles at us and kill us! That's OK????? Apparently, if you know the right people!

So since they've set the precendent now, why aren't they negotiating with the Taliban or Al-Quaeda or whoever it is that has our latest missing soldier? And why have they not gone to such extreme efforts/measures to negotiate release of civilian contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan? Are they not just as important as these two women? I'm sure THEIR families and loved ones think so!

I guess the official response from our gov't would more than likely be something like..."um, well, our soldiers and those contractors KNOW the risk of being killed or captured"....well, SO did these women in my opinion!

In this vein as well, are they going to negotiate with Iran now for release of those 3 hikers? Might as well.

I mean, c'mon, how stupid do you have to BE to get that close to the border of crazy North Korea? Most of us would certainly know better. SO....it could be said that THEY too knew the risks just as well as our soldiers and civilian contractors and other civilians who get captured, kidnapped and perhaps even have their heads cut off on tv!

I'm glad they're home but what about our SOLDIERS who are over there being killed for this country and those that HAVE been killed while in captivity of the enemy and all we have heard is "the US doesn't negotiate with terrorists"...well folks, we just have!
