Pilots Heard Noises Before Barker/DJ AM Crash

8/7/2009 1:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The pilot of the plane that crashed with DJ AM and Travis Barker on board heard a series of strange noises just moments before the fatal crash.

Pilots Heard Noises Before Barker/DJ AM Crash

According to a log of intra-cockpit communication, one of the pilots can be heard saying "What was that?" The other pilot responds, "I don't know. We're not going though."

The NTSB released the log today, along with several photos of items recovered at the scene, but is still months away from issuing a final report with the probable cause of the crash.

The plane crashed as it was trying to abort takeoff from Columbia, SC just before midnight on September 19, 2008. Four of the six people on board were killed.

please to everyone keep in mind that there were 3 husbands and 1 soon to be on that plane that could use a little compassion. be careful with what you say, it could be hurting someones feelings as they personaly attempt to reach an understanding and closure as to why their spouses never came home.

Let's get a few facts straight. First, the pilot was a woman, and she was an excellent pilot. The co-pilot was not only a very experienced pilot, he also was a cop. Unless you have ever flown a plane, I don't think you have any knowledge of how mechanical things work. Most of you people can't even spell, let alone use an electric can opener! I think that once the NTSB puts in it's final report, they will find catastrophic mechanical failure as the cause. As for the flight crew, they did what they were trained to do, and that was to make a decision and quickly. The families of the survivors are suing the charter company, the manufacturer of the aircraft and the owner of the aircraft. They are not suing the families of the deceased pilots.

TC, your welcome! I have a feeling you have a personal interest on this topic. I am dumbfounded by how many mean and hurtful comments there are regarding this subject. What these idiots don't realize is that other people have lost their loved ones, and the two that survived no doubt have their own issues to contend with, survivor guilt for one. Regardless of who sues whom, the cold hard facts are that those who perished will not come back. Those who survived will carry that awful night around in their heads for a long time. No amount of money will ever make it okay.

What you guys are missing is that when you are flying a jet there are procedures to follow. The decisions are made for you before you take-off. based on the aircrafts weight there are certain speeds calculated (V1, V2, etc.) if something should happen below these speeds you abort the take off. Above this speed you take off and deal with it in the air. the tire issue occurred under the v-speed which is why they aborted. they followed procedure and did everything they could to save lives, which they DID!!
