The Heal the World Foundation has filed court documents asking for the right to use the Michael Jackson trademark.
The Foundation -- founded by Jackson in the 90's -- has raised millions of dollars for relief efforts around the world.
The Foundation wants to use the Jackson trademark to market products.

MJ founded it and as long as he was still very invlved in it all along-- I think they should get the right to use it. But question, if Heal The World was his as the Founder, does this mean another "company" Team Branca are in charge of?
What's the relationship of Heal The World to MJ now?
I only want to give money to organizations that he himself was involved in... not started and stepped out of.

Michael Jackson was not involved in it all along. He was the founder of Heal The World Foundation. In 2006, it was dissolved and the HTWF trademark and name was bought out by the current owners. Michael Jackson had nothing to do with it after it was dissolved in 2006. Therefore, unless they have the permission and support of his family, they should not be able to use his name. It is not run by people Michael trusted, paid or supported and he has no way, in death, to offer his stamp of approval on its activities and it's charitable efforts.

This organization has really done nothing. From 2002 to 2008 it had lost its tax exempt status. It only regained it back last year. They obviously have no track record. The true test, however. If you go into Charity Navigator, a site established to let you assess how to donate intelligently, they do even come up as a valid charity.
There is no indication to determine who is in charge of this organization. I hope they get no licensing or trademark approval.

Even his foundation taking advantage of him? We all know the majority of the money that comes to foundations go to their people in charge not the people they are supposedly helping. Give direct-never give to a foundation.

The president and vice-president of the foundation have been involved since Michael launched it. It was with his blessing that they took over. This IS his foundation but thanks to poor upkeep on the part of Michael's legal team, they let a lot of important things slide, including the foundation's tax exempt status. The current staff brought everything back together because they truly believe in and support what Michael wanted to achieve. They're continuing his good work in a time when EVERYONE ELSE wants a piece of him.
