Ryan Jenkins Charged with Murder

8/20/2009 7:01 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned the Orange County D.A. has charged Ryan Jenkins for the murder of his wife Jasmine Fiore.

Fiore's body was found Saturday morning stuffed in a suitcase which was thrown in a dumpster in Buena Park, CA.

It appears Jenkins has fled to Canada. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

We do not know if the charge is 1st or 2nd degree murder.

The D.A. is holding a news conference at 4 PM PT today. We'll be live streaming the whole thing.

Murdered Model's Shotgun Wedding -- The Pics

It wasn't long ago that Ryan Jenkins and Jasmine Fiore were happily getting hitched in Las Vegas -- after only knowing each other for a few days.

Ryan Jenkins & Jasmine Fiore

We're told the couple tied the knot at the Little White Wedding Chapel on March 18 of this year.

Cops have been looking for Ryan since he reported Jasmine missing last Saturday -- the same day she was found stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in a dumpster in Orange County, CA.

Email from Suspect to Victim: 'I Love You'

We've obtained an email from Ryan Jenkins to Jasmine Fiore less than 3 weeks before she was murdered. Jenkins, who is now a "potential suspect" in her murder, has now fled to Canada.

In the email, Jenkins writes, "Your (sic) my angel, despite what we've done to each other."

Jenkins was charged with battery in June for allegedly brutalizing Jasmine.

Reality Star Jenkins Flees to Canada

Sheriff's deputies in Washington state now tell TMZ that they believe Ryan Alexander Jenkins has escaped to Canada by foot.

Jenkins is Canadian, and cops in California wanted to talk to him about the death of his wife, model Jasmine Fiore. Her body was found in a suitcase in Orange County last weekend. Customs tells us Jenkins is now a "potential suspect" in her killing.

Here's what we know straight from the Whatcom County Sheriff's Dept. in Washington State, which is just over the border from Canada:

- Yesterday evening a witness reported seeing someone matching Jenkins' description driving a black BMW SUV (we know he owned one) with a boat in tow in a marina which is extremely close to the Canadian border.

- A short time later deputies found the boat and the SUV abandoned.

- A manhunt then began for Jenkins by land, sea, and air, conducted by federal agents, deputies, cops, and Canadian authorities.

- They were unable to find Jenkins and now think that he literally made a run for the border -- crossing over by foot.

Honduras May be Jenkins' Final Destination

We've learned Ryan Jenkins -- the "potential suspect" in the murder of his wife, Jasmine Fiore -- has deep ties to an island off Honduras.

Jenkins' dad, Dan -- an architect -- helped develop a resort on the island of Roatan. He's credited as the "developer, president and architect" of the project. A rep from SOSA Airline in Honduras tells us Dan owns a 19-seat private jet.

Authorities believe Jenkins has fled to Canada. That country will not extradite someone charged with a death penalty offense in the United States. Of course, if Jenkins is charged with a non-capital crime, he could be extradited.

Honduras also provides for extradition, but only to the suspect's home country -- which we believe is Canada.

Jenkins Allegedly Struck Wife

We've just obtained a copy of the domestic violence criminal complaint filed against Ryan Jenkins for allegedly striking Jasmine Fiore.

The complaint charges Jenkins with the crime of "battery constituting domestic violence." According to the doc, On April 22, 2009, Jenkins allegedly struck Jasmine "in the arm with his fist."

The alleged incident occurred in Las Vegas. The complaint was filed on June 12, 2009.

As we first reported, Jenkins was also convicted of assaulting another girlfriend in 2005 in Calgary Canada.

Text Message -- Key Clue in Model Murder

Jasmine FloreSources tell TMZ cops have spoken with a man who was involved with the murdered model -- and a text message he received the last night of her life may be the key to unlocking this mystery.

Here's what multiple sources tell TMZ. The victim, Jasmine Fiore, and her husband, Ryan Jenkins (the "person of interest") were in San Diego for a poker tournament last Friday. At some point in the evening, Fiore texted Robert Hasman, a former boyfriend with whom she was involved before meeting Jenkins.

We're told Jenkins not only knew of Hasman, he was upset Hasman had been communicating with his wife while Jenkins was in Mexico shooting a reality show.

We're told Fiore texted Hasman on Friday night, saying she was going to travel to Las Vegas to see him.

Later that same evening, we're told Hasman received another text from Fiore's phone that just said, "suck it."

Police are exploring a theory that Jenkins may have seen the text Fiore sent to Hasman and then fired off the "suck it" message out of anger.

Fiore's body was stuffed in a suitcase and placed in a dumpster in Orange County, CA. Jenkins was the last person to see her and the one who reported her missing on Saturday night. He is now MIA. Cops say they are "suspicious" of Jenkins but he is not yet a suspect.

This woman did not deserve to die like that. Who is this sorry, worthless, wild animal that did such a thing, anyway? He is the prime reason that all states should have the Death Penalty invoked. However, as far as her looks go . . . You gotta be kidding me! . . . ONLY an idiot would dare call this freak a model. Model for what? . . . Nest-making material??
