DJ Premier -- one of the most famous DJs and hip-hop producers of all-time -- spoke with DJ AM on the day before he died.
In an audio clip posted on his website, Premier talks about a sneaker line he had coming out with DJ AM and how the two had dinner plans for next week. Primo says he met AM when Adam was 14 years old.
DJ AM was found dead in his apartment yesterday. He was 36.

(Page 1 of 1)TMZ - I think the story has the wrong angle. So what if he broke up with some girl none of us heard of.
The important imformation is DJ AM played with fire....recreational drug use.
Let this be a lesson to everyone. Too many are dieing from drugs.
DRUGS ARE NOT COOL.
I bet they still do the sneakers but of course Ryan Jenkins shows can't come out.
The sadness lies in the fact that he survived a deadly plane crash,
but to not have survived it's aftermath. His weight and drug issues
were probably never addressed emotionally and the post traumatic
stress compounded that.
A cautionary tale.

Someone d-bags will do anything for publicity. Pushing his shoes? Real heartfelt tribute.
Legend does not apply to any pop culutre figure in the past 15 years. Legendary means your fame spanned generations. Not that you OD'ed and few people knew who the hell you you were. Please TMZ, feature the oldtimers who are more newsworthy. Sure, make fun of them but include a balanced sampling of REAL LEGENDS to remind us what showbiz was like back in the good old days!

Well Penis, Premier has been in the hip hop game for about 20 years. More than your 15 year count. The hip hop culture is in its late 30's. Premier is more than half of that. So he is a legend.
This legend didn't seem too torn up by AM's passing. Premier is simply good at making a self-promotional segue out of someone's death. Makes me want to run right out and see that show you are still doing to "celebrate" AM's life. Let me guess... the money you make that night is going to charity???
RIVALS da shoo fo mi bruddas to runs fum da poelees faster dan da other shoos u b a runnin wif. I be a noin AM fo sinse he wuz 14 now he be 36 dats 15 16 yeers. Naw dawg I is tu cull fo skool. Tanks god dare be re kords tuuz spin or I be a robbin white folks.
Wow what is more amazing? People hating on DJ AM for being a talented musician, self made multi millionaire, and one of the worlds most popular DJ's or the comments about the very definition of a living legend, DJ Premier. I mean have you heard of Wikipedia? Please do message boards around the world a favor and look up either one of those extremely gifted artists. The positive impact they have had on society bringing joy and happiness into peoples lives through the Art form of music, will far out live your ignorance. RIP DJ AM. The real people out there will always keep your name alive. DJ Premier as usual, there is no one better. Ever.
