Jackson Gets Posthumous B'Day Gift from Vegas

8/30/2009 12:20 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Jackson was honored in Las Vegas last night -- on what would have been his 51st birthday -- with a star on the Palms Casino Resort's Walk of Fame.

Joe Jackson

Robin Leach presented the star to Joe Jackson, Michael's dad, who said, "I wish he was here to see this take place."

Afterwards, Joe had dinner at the N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms and then went up to the Playboy Club. After that, he went to another nightclub called Moon, where the DJ played Michael Jackson songs all night.

MJ's manager signed off on a deal that MJ reneged on. THAT is why Allgood is suing. What the family did or did not want is tangentially related (at best). MJ was an adult who could, and often did, say 'no', to his family and others. In this case he said, 'yes', then 'no' which (as you might expect) brought him legal troubles. That said, a $40 million lawsuit was NOT an unusual occurrence in our superstar's life, so whether that caused undue stress is mere speculation.

I agree, childhood trauma such as that endured by MJ stays with one for a very long time. However, at some point in later years, most come to terms with what happened, either through counseling or on their own, and they forgive, as MJ said he did. We know he said the words, but whether he ever forgave in his heart, that we don't know.

MJ was someone who would have benefited from extensive counseling. If he never got that, then that's beyond unfortunate.

R.I.P. Michael.

Well, the family orchestrated a concert Michael simply did not want to do. I think people have every reason to dislike Michael's family--his parents especially. That he forgave him is really beside the point. Many recognize Michael Jackson's demise as stemming directly from his parents' hijacking of his childhood and his life until he was already an adult. The Allgood deal was really something his family and Allgood orchestrated and this caused a great amount of stress for Michael.

But I certainly don't let the family off the hook at all.

Insanity.. you are right.. they send the message with each post about not having to type in information and you can use your password, but then it says that the password feature is not working.
Then after they upgraded or whatever they did to their page, they put all these adds on here that make it impossible to navigate without accidentally clicking on something that keeps opening up a hundred pages that you don't want to see.
I agree that it should be more secure.

In other news - maybe we will have a burial come Thursday?

Seriously People

Well, the person who holds the closest thing to which we call "the truth" is his makeup artist/stylist. I've been in twitter touch with her--she took off to Maui, totally devastated. One thing is many of Michael's closest friends are discrete: some have been interviewed by the media and say on the bare essential. But it would be interesting if Karen Faye were to be properly interviewed. I suspect she will remain loyal to Michael and leave his private life to himself, though you can see a video of her on youtube wherein she explains his skin condition.

Danger I do agree with the line above; perhaps, if a formal introduction into psychotherapy was placed in the fundamentals the picture would not be so distorted now. We at large co-exist in a society that has a pill for everything! What is so wrong with expressing feelings of anger or disappointment or any other feeling for that matter...Are the only feelings we may express considered as joy and happiness??-Only elation people/Only Elation!

With respect to the tmz site the advertisements are entirely too plentiful which causes a major delay for anyone not running Quad-Core CPU's. You will require lots of memory @ least 4gb if you have additional applications running while accessing this site...If not you will notice that posts don't update and you will have serious band-width lag because the streaming advertisements eat the bulk of a connection that is not T2 or better...

R.I.P. Michael,

I agree that tons of us have sad, even abusive childhoods. But one thing that distinguishes most people from Michael is that Micahel was not really released form the bonds of abuse. We see this with the recent kidnpaping case in CA where the young girl spent the better part of her life encased in this couple's backyard. Now they are learning that she had opportunities to escape, but she did not. Mental abuse functions in this way whereby the victim cannot distinguish the present reality from possibility. Especially having few friends, no normal social life--these factors alone cause the subject to be unable to distinguish what he must do from what he wants to do. Though Michael was not physically locked up as such, he was given I feel an equally heavy burden--the financial responsability of a dozen people, a mortgage, at an incredibly young age. This was a mortal blow for a young child and this continued until he was thirty, directly living this reality day in and day out--his father his manager, his mother the "interlocutor" of sorts whispering the needs into his ear, his siblings passively receiving the goods of his labor, some of whom later in life, learned to ask, like Joseph, for what they wanted. This is an enormous pathology to deal with in one person, multiply this by ten--I am amazed Michael lived this long.

Yes, that is a lovely mix of moves. What makes me most happy is to see Michael almost always wearing the same old shoes, no matter how glitzy his outfit is. You can see it is him immediately.

94. Insanity Poses A Question:

The movie is schedule to be released about the end of October. Tickets to the two-week only movie run will go on sale on 9/27/2009. I expect it will probably be some unique, expensive arrangement to buy tickets. Expect the DVD will be released immediately after the two-week movie run.
