Nick Hogan's Crash Victim Leaves Hospital

9/9/2009 2:35 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The Iraq War veteran who suffered brain damage when Nick Hogan wrecked his car on August 26, 2007 was finally released from the hospital today.

John Graziano left the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa today in the care of his mother, after doctors determined his condition had improved enough to go home, this according to TampaBay.com.

John -- who will still need 24-hour assistance -- fractured his skull when Hogan's car hit a palm tree in Clearwater, FL during a street race. Hogan spent five months in jail over the accident -- the Graziano's civil lawsuit against the Hogan family is still pending.

I agree with 11.
Mr Graziano got into stupid Nick's car on his own accord, probably wasted himself. Chose not to put on his seatbelt.
Terrible tragedy, sucks that Nick didn't do more crime.
But Nick didn't force John into the car.
Yes, there John will be taking care of the rest of his life financially.
Still, stupid mistake=tragedy.

NOBODY GO TO THAT TROLL'S WEBSITE TO BUY ANYTHING! HOW DISGUSTING..TROLLING ON A POOR VETERAN WHO IS MAIMED FOR LIFE!

Wish John all the best quality of life now that he's finally home. And hope the Hogan's can live with themselves after the way they've behaved in this tragedy.

I think it is in very poor taste for TMZ to publish this photograph. I think it's very unfortunate that his privacy isn't respected while he is still unable to care for himself.

This story is truly sad!!! I am blow away by how many people still drink and drive! When will people wake up? After they screw up their lives.
I hope that John will make some type of recovery and have the best life he possibly can considering his situation. This happen to my brother and he made somewhat of a recovery but nowhere near the same as he once was.

To all you people that posted nasty comments on here in regards to this poor man, I hope that you wake up one day and find what the meaning of compassion is! You need to examine you hearts.

Yours brothers from Truck Company 1st platoon always have you in our hearts. God bless you. And from myself, Jason Sacapano, a former Coporal in Johns platoon... Hulk and Nick, I hope you burn in hell. How does it feel to know all the Marines that look down upon you? To think how John always spoke so highly of you when we were deployed together. Burn in hell, real, real, slow for me.

No. 4, you're an idiot. This man will NEVER be the same. I wish you could switch places with him and then make your assinine comment. Nothing could replace what he has lost.

People are forgetting that Nick wore his seatbelt and this guy didn't. Nick came out virtually unscathed, and this guy didn't. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the lawsuit because yes, Nick is a douchebag, but he's not at fault for his buddy not buckled up.

Another factor, though, putting Nick's driving at fault (possibly) more than the seatbelt is the way the car crashed. If the passenger side slammed into the tree, then it may have made no difference whether he was buckled up or not. But head-on and they get equal treatment.

Will be interesting.

Correction

The entire episode is unfortunate, and there is responsibility on all involved, although the driver (Nick) should shoulder the bulk of it. But they were BOTH out partying. Just unfortunate all the way around.

Additionally, I would say that TMZ should leave this guy alone. Why gawk and snap photos of an individual who has been in hospital for so long, trying to recover from life-changing injuries.

He probably has a prosthetic on his face. And people - we don't have proof he was unbuckled. Little Nicky is the one who said that, and little Nicky could well have been taught to unbuckle any passenger in case of an accident for insurance purposes. Little Nicky lied about everything else he told police (that he hadn't been drinking, he hadn't been speeding, he hadn't been racing). Why should we believe him about the belt? Besides, in that kind of an accident, a seat belt wouldn't have helped him. He wasn't tossed through a windshield (which is what a belt would prevent) but rather was hit from behind.
