Kirk Cameron

Plays the Hitler Card

9/22/2009 6:10 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Evangelical actor Kirk Cameron is on a serious crusade against Charles Darwin -- connecting the scientist's most famous and significant work to Adolf Hitler.

0221_media_removed-1
To commemorate the upcoming 150th anniversary of Darwin's "Origin of Species" -- Kirk has released a 6-minute long video on his evangelical website bashing Darwin's book along with C.D.'s famous theory of evolution.

In the video attack -- which Kirk made to promote the release of a reworked, creationist edition of "Origin of Species" -- Kirk essentially calls Darwin a racist, a woman-hater and claims Darwin's theory has an "undeniable connection" with Hitler.

But it gets better -- Kirk claims he will be embarking on a college tour, in the hopes of infiltrating the minds of America's future "lawyers, doctors and politicians."

To quote Kirk, "These students aren't stupid."

Let's hope not.

Oh my F---ing God! This blog is till alive after 105 hours!! 600 posts!!

Good job Comalitej! You've done a GREAT service to the forces of reason. (I'll have to take some time to read your essays. I'm glad a friend explained to me what a double-blind is earlier).

(IDespiseIgnorantChristians: #598 is an imposter. Some Goddy is angry at Comalitej and is trying to slander him -- like CaMoron on Darwin).

I'm convinced you guys have beaten back the barbarians from the gate!! Congratulations, Warriors of Logic!

PASSION OF THE TAINT

In 1976, Zecharia Sitchin stirred up a great deal of controversy with the publication of his book, The Twelfth Planet. In this and subsequent books, Sitchin presented his literal translations of ancient Sumerian texts which told an incredible story about the origins of humankind on planet Earth - a story far different and much more fantastic than what we all learned in school.

The ancient cuneiform texts - some of the earliest known writing, dating back some 6,000 years - told the story of a race of beings called the Anunnaki. The Anunnaki came to Earth from a planet in our solar system called Nibiru, according to the Sumerians via Sitchin. If you've never heard of it, that's because mainstream science does not recognize Nibiru as one of the planets that revolves around our Sun. Yet it is there, claims Sitchin, and its presence holds great importance not only for humankind's past, but our future as well.

Nibiru's orbit around the Sun is highly elliptical, according to Sitchin's books, taking it out beyond the orbit of Pluto at its farthest point and bringing it as close to the Sun as the far side of the asteroid belt (a ring of asteroids that is known to occupy a band of space between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter). It takes Nibiru 3,600 years to complete one orbital journey, and it was last in this vicinity around 160 B.C.E. As you can imagine, the gravitational effects of a sizable planet moving close to the inner solar system, as it is claimed for Nibiru, could wreak havoc on the orbits of other planets, disrupt the asteroid belt and spell big trouble for planet Earth.

Well, prepare for yet another possible apocalypse because, they say, Nibiru is once again heading this way - and will be here soon.

Comalitej, I’m not impressed. You can’t be rid of us that easily. You have a long hard fight on your hands (after all, I have to earn my keep). There are more tools in God’s toolbox. Just give up, infidels.

First, in regard to the power of prayer on healing (Dr. Byrd): http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/smj1.html

Look, if you look hard enough, you’ll always find someone to dispute a scientific study. And the Byrd study is indeed a double-blind scientific study.

Each prayer team was given the first name of the patient and told that the patient was in the CCU. They were given no instructions as to how they were to pray, as long as they prayed for the patient once a day. Neither the doctors, nurses, technicians caring for the patients, nor the patients themselves knew to which group they had been assigned. Most were actually unaware that the study was in progress. This is irrefutable.

The issue was with Dr. Byrd himself and his data analysts, who couldn’t possibly remember who was who in the study at any point in time -- there were over 400 patients – more extensive than any other study that came after this one.

But I won’t press this issue any further. I’ll throw out another challenge at the atheists. This is a bit tougher to disprove: http://www.earlbakken.com/content/involvement/spirituality.research.pdf

The link above shows the STRUCTURAL changes in the brain due to prayer. Again, this is a bouble-blind study. Look at the images of the brain slices and judge for yourselves.

God works in mysterious ways...

#605...this study proves nothing other than the fact that there is deliberate energy transference between people's brains. This is how telepathy and psychic healing work. These techniques have been known throughout the world for centuries in the Eastern world and have absolutely NOTHING to do with your "god". Did you know that people can actually heal themselves too... WITHOUT your god ? It's called the "Power of Positive Thinking". The MIND is a mysterious thing capable of untold wonders and your sky daddy doesn't have a THING to do with it.

College Educated (#606):

You are the weak link in the atheists’ argument. I’m hearing a crack! You admit that things your science can’t explain DO EXIST! That’s what Creationists have been saying all along. But you must note that these “psychic healing” approaches, which you accept as real, are mostly PRAYERS – mostly to Almighty God.

Let me remind everyone of my two challenges:

1) Prayers heal people (San Francisco General Hospital)
http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/smj1.html

2) Prayers change the structure of the brain (North Hawaii Community Hospital)
http://www.earlbakken.com/content/involvement/spirituality.research.pdf

I have yet to see any conclusive arguments against both my challenges. Infidels, just give it up.

I thought I had to work here. NO need to bring up inter-species arguments against Evolution.

@Paparazzo, thanks for pointing out that #598 was an imposter (and a lame one at that — one who willfully violated the literal meaning of Bearing False Witness [which is more than just lying]). I'm logging in using an AOL account that I’ve had for decades, but due to the way this system works, anyone else could log in with the same username using one of the other methods.

Posts by me are found on a wide variety of online forums under the names “COMALite J” (preferred) and variants based on whether the service in question allows spaces, underscores, uppercase, etc. in the username (AOL removes spaces and translates uppercase to lowercase when its login system is used by forums such as this one, but my actual AOL username is “COMALite J”). I never pretend to be anyone else, and rarely log in using a name that isn’t some variant of this (the main exceptions are some old online games where we had a team or clan “theme uniform”).

@TheWillOfGod — I can’t read your second study right now, as the web browser I have access to at this time doesn’t support Adobe Acrobat, so I can’t read .PDFs through it. I’ll try to read it later.

That said, there have been seemingly miraculous events in all religions. Over in India, there have been many cases of even very young children who exhibit detailed memories of past lives, right down to fluently speaking long-extinct dialects or dialects not spoken in those regions. This, of course, flatly contradicts the Biblical “For it is appointed unto man ONCE to die, and after that the judgment.” And yet it happens.

In the city I live in, over a decade ago the local major newspaper (a Gannett subsidiary) ran a series of stories on people who converted to various religions. One of them told of a woman whom I have personally met.

She used to be dyslexic.

Read that again: she USED TO BE dyslexic.

She hasn't learned some way to deal with her dyslexia. She hasn't found some means (e.g. tinted glasses, special fonts, etc.) to work around her dyslexia. She simply doesn't HAVE it anymore. At all. Period.

It went away in a single moment. One moment she was dyslexic. The next, she wasn’t. At all.

It happened just after a Bible study class.

She used to attend a Bible study class with several other people. One day, she told the group about a recurring dream that she’d had for years. She didn’t know what it meant, but it felt to her to be from God. After mentioning some details of her dream (including the Tree of Life), the minister who led the class immediately stopped her and told her in no uncertain terms that the dream was not of God, but of Satan, and warned her never to mention it again, nor to give heed to it. The class went on for a bit longer, then ended.

On her way to her car, another woman who attended the group stopped her and asked her for more details about the dream, saying that unlike the minister, she agreed with her that it was from God, not Satan. She told some more of the details, and the woman says, “I know where that dream is from.” She then proceeds to take out her own copy of the Scriptures, and opened it to a particular passage, and handed it to the dyslexic woman to read. “Here. See for yourself.”

Well, the dyslexic woman had not revealed her dyslexia to the Bible study class, and didn’t know the people (including this other woman) well enough to be comfortable revealing something she had been so ashamed of all her life to this woman. So, she prepared to do what she always did in such a situation: take whatever reading material was offered, pretend to read it, nod her head, say things like “hmm” and “how interesting!” and the like. In other words, she was going to fake it, like she’d done most of her life.

But when she took the book and began to pretend to read, suddenly, as she recounts it, the pages glowed with a Heavenly light visible only to her. Suddenly, for the first time in her life, the letters and words on a printed page stood still, instead of seeming to move and flip-flop around and morph in shape. And right then and there, her dyslexia was simply gone, permanently!

For the first time in her life, she could read! And she did, and sure enough, there was her dream, recounted in every detail, just as she’d had it so many times in her life before!

Now here’s the kicker: I said that the other woman handed her a copy of the Scriptures. Notice that I didn’t say, “the Bible.” Because it wasn’t.

It was a Book of Mormon.

True story, and backed up in a major newspaper (unfortunately, the news story is too old to be in the online archive).

PASSION OF THE TAINT

The story of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is shared with us in the Bible and is known as the Gospels. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the most awesome aspect of the Bible ... There are four Gospels in the Bible. Now, one must keep in mind that there are four different people telling the stories of Jesus in the Bible. They are in the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

As you can imagine, when any story is shared with others, by four different people, as it was with these four Gospels, that the story is the same, but is shared from different viewpoints and certain things that touched one may not have been mentioned by the other. Not to mention that two of these individuals which shared their story of Jesus were not actually there for much of it (Mark and Luke) but these two were told of the events and they shared it with us second hand.

Matthew and John were both there with Jesus, but are two different manner of souls. Matthew was a tax collector before Jesus chose him so you can imagine that his account would be very detailed and by the book. John on the other hand was known as the beloved and was younger and seemed more passionate about sharing the loving aspect of Jesus with us. Sooooooo, we will look at all four of these books at once as to experience and understand the entire Story of Jesus ...

God says that you will know that He is the only TRUE God, because He uses Prophecy (telling the future) as a way to prove that He is Lord. We will prove that JESUS IS THE LORD by using past prophecy (predictions of the future made by God's prophets that were made in the Bible) ... The Prophets of the Bible made many prophesies about the coming of the Lord Jesus. There is prophecy on his birth, life, death, resurrection and His return.

These prophesies that we will be looking at, were written hundreds and even thousands of years before Jesus was on Earth. Could all of these hundreds of prophesies, be just a coincidence?

In this awesome study on the birth, life death resurrection and return of Jesus, you will hear the whole story of Jesus and learn of abundant prophecy which proves ...

JESUS IS LORD

#610... not being able to explain an event with science does NOT prove the existence of a "god". It simply means it cannot be explained or science has yet to find a reasonable explanation. There are plenty of things that DO exist.. unfortunately your "god" just isn't one of them.

You just don't get it do you ? Your "god/jesus" story is just a "remake" of the same story told for thousands of years by hundreds of other religions. THE SAME EXACT STORY. You people are just too damned stupid and ignorant to believe what there actually IS proof of. PROOF.. WRITTEN PROOF that your 'god' story was PLAGERIZED and is no more REAL than any of the previous versions of it.

I suggest you sit down sometime and watch the movie Zeitgeist. Then take yourself to the nearest library and start reading about Horus. You MIGHT actually get a REAL education.

PASSION OF THE TAINT

The Quran uses the word ‘din’, usually translated as ‘religion’, in different contexts with different meanings. Judging, rewarding or punishing (1.4; 51.6; 82.18-9; 37.53; 56.86); way, law, constitution (12.76); penal law (24.2), the collection of moral, spiritual and worldly principles, system, way of conduct (33.5; 40.26); servanthood, obedience (16.52); peace, order (8.39) are the most important and frequently used of these meanings.

With Islam God completed the religion He revealed and chose for mankind. Literally, Islam means ‘submission, peace and salvation’. In its most essential or fundamental aspect, Islam is epitomized in the most frequently recited of all Quranic phrases, the Basmala — In the name of God, the Merciful (al-Rahman), the Compassionate (al-Rahim). Both words are related to the quality of rahma, meaning mercy and compassion. God manifests Himself essentially through His absolute, all-inclusive Mercy and Compassion, and Islam is founded upon that affirmation. The mission of the Prophet Muhammad, with whom God sent Islam to mankind, is called in the Quran "a mercy for all the worlds", for the whole of creation.

Islam is uncompromisingly monotheistic. The concept that begins and ends Islamic theology is the Unity of God. In the light of that concept, the universe is seen as an integral whole, whose parts are all interrelated and co-operative. That is why there is such a splendid co-ordination, harmony and order throughout the universe and within each individual organism, including man. The harmony and orderliness prevalent in the universe and man come from the Unity of God Who alone created them and He is absolute, without partner or peer or like. The universe operative according to the laws God has established, is, in the literal sense of the word, Muslim, absolutely submitted to God. That is why there is stability, order and harmony in the operations of the universe.

Nevertheless, among creatures man has been equipped with freedom of will. While the other creatures are unable to fully manifest the Divine Names the All-Willing, the All-Knowing and the All-Speaking, man has so comprehensive a nature as to be a perfect mirror to God’s Names and Attributes. God has also equipped him with the knowledge of things or a capacity to learn and discover — ‘names’, in the language of the Quran — and made him His vicegerent to rule on the earth according to His laws. But, having free will means being faced by choices, so man’s life is the course of his choices between the opposed possibilities of right and wrong.

Religion is a universal intellect, a guidance from beyond human reason and human experience

So that he may survive and fulfill his functions as God’s vicegerent, man is empowered with three principal faculties. These are his appetites — for the opposite sex, offspring, livelihood, commodities, etc.; his anger or forcefulness in defense and struggle; and his power of reasoning or intellect. Since man is tested in his worldly life and has freedom of will, these faculties are not restricted in creation by God. However, man’s individual and collective happiness lies in his disciplining them for the sake of a harmonious, peaceful social life. Unless he so disciplines them, these faculties may drive man to immorality, illicit sexual relationships, unlawful livelihood, tyranny, injustices, deception and falsehood, and other vices. To prevent the chaos and suffering that must follow undisciplined exercise of human powers, man must submit to an authority that will guide and regulate his collective affairs. Since subjugating some people to others more wealthy and powerful means an open injustice and it is impossible for humankind to find out a justice to encompass all people, there is need for a universal intellect, a guidance from beyond human reason and human experience, to whose authority all may freely give their assent. That guidance is the religion revealed and perfected for man by God through His Prophets, namely Islam.

Islam is the name of the religion which God revealed to mankind through all of the Prophets

Islam is the name of the religion which God revealed to mankind through all of the Prophets. All of them, upon them be peace, came with the same essentials of belief — belief in the existence and Unity of God; belief in the final destruction of the world and the Resurrection and Judgment; belief in Prophethood and all the Prophets without distinction; belief in the Divine Scriptures; belief in angels and Divine Destiny and Decree without excluding human free will. All of the Prophets called people to worship only One God and preached and promoted the moral virtues and condemned vices. The differences lie in particular rules and injunctions connected with economic and political relationships at a particular epoch, and in the fact that while all the previ

TheWillOfGod, re: your #610 to College Educated:

“You are the weak link in the atheists’ argument. I’m hearing a crack! You admit that things your science can’t explain DO EXIST!”

And by that statement, you reveal that you know next to nothing about science. Contrary to the hideously insulting anti-Semitic charicature of a college “Evolution” professor in Jack Chick’s notorious “Big Daddy?” tract, scientists DO NOT claim that “science ALWAYS has the answers.” Quite the opposite, in fact: science is the PURSUIT OF knowledge. The day that science ever actually DOES have ALL the answers is the day that science will cease to have any reason to exist!

Science is a system of rational thought based on mathematically proven principles of logic. If you deny that these principles are 100% reliable when given true premises, then stop using your computer. It’s built of LOGIC CIRCUITS that work on the SAME principles. If the underlying principles of logic were even a miniscule fraction of 1% unreliable, computers would be impossible.

Logic must be both SOUND *AND* VALID to be reliable. Logic is SOUND if the PREMISES are true. To be accepted as such, they must either have been previously proven by other sound AND valid logic, or some really basic general assumption used as a starting point (e.g. axioms and postulates in arithmetic and geometry, respectively). Actually, we’ve managed to whittle the assumptions down to one (you must start somewhere).

Logic is VALID if the FORM of the logic is correct and non-fallacious. The presence of even one logical fallacy anywhere in a chain of logic makes the whole thing unreliable.

And yet, so-called “Creation Science” and “Intelligent Design” are rife with fallacies, AND with unSOUND logic.

First off, they’re STARTING with their CONCLUSION. That is FORBIDDEN in logic and science. Rule #1 of anything that wishes to be considered a science: Thou shalt NOT START with thine CONCLUSION! But, of course, they START WITH the assumption that their desired CONCLUSION, namely, Genesis Chapter 1 (for Young Earth Creationists), or the general idea of YHWH creating everything (for Judeo-Christian Creationists in general) is correct. They pick and choose evidence based on that. That’s NOT how to do SCIENCE.

Science starts with OBSERVATIONS and DATA. A proposed EXPLANATION for that data is formed, called a “conjecture.” Even the conjecture must be sound and valid logic, and mathematically sound and valid as well. If it fails in any of these, it won’t even get its foot in the door. Contrary to “Expelled,” Creation “Scientists” aren’t excluded because of some anti-God bias. They’re excluded because they’re NOT SCIENTISTS. They’re NOT DOING SCIENCE. At ALL.

If it AIN’T SCIENCE, it has no business being taught in SCIENCE class, for the SAME reason that we don’t teach the structure of Shakespearean sonnets in mechanical engineering class, nor the principles of the internal combustion engine in English Lit. class!

Creationism is NOT science and can NEVER BE science, EVEN IF IT WERE TRUE (which it is not, but EVEN IF IT WERE)!

Anyway, back to the scientific method: the conjecture is submitted to experimentation to see if it continues to explain the data, including new data obtained after the conjecture was formulated. If it survives this, and if it is FALSIFIABLE (a 100% absolute requirement!) and yet is not falsified by the experiments intended to falsify it, then it can graduate to the status of “hypothesis.”

Falsfiability means that the conjecture MUST have a way to DISPROVE it, if in fact it is untrue. There must be some conceivable experiment that could be performed that, if it showed results contrary to what the conjecture says it should, would PROVE the conjecture FALSE.

And this is Reason #2 that Creationism (and its thinly disguised warmed-over clone [proven as such in a court of law by a jury of your peers in Dover, PA], “Intelligent” Design) are NOT science and can NEVER BE science: they’re NOT FALSIFIABLE!

To be falsifiable, we would need a CONTROL GROUP. We would need some things that were NOT Created, to compare in a lab with other otherwise identical things that WERE Created, subjecting both to analyses to determine exactly what the difference is, what distinguishes a Created from a non-Created object or entity, so that we can definitively tell, from now on, given any object or entity, that yes, THIS object or entity was Created, and THAT one was not.

Well, since Creationists hold that God created EVERYTHING, then BY DEFINITION there CANNOT BE any NON-created thing to use as a CONTROL GROUP (other than God Himself, and He has yet to report to any laboratory for analysis)!
