MJ -- If Not for Kids He Would 'Choose Death'

9/26/2009 11:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, a close friend of Michael Jackson, is releasing tapes of interviews he did with Jackson that show how Jackson was afraid of growing old ... and Madonna.

In the tapes, which aired on "Dateline" last night, Jackson said children were very important to him: "If it weren't for children, I would choose death."

As for his infamous date with Madonna, he remembers that she didn't want to go to Disneyland and he didn't want to go to a strip club. Both are sometimes considered the happiest place on Earth.

Alejandra (!?) no offense but how did Jermaine afford a "bodyguard" when he was shacking up with you? Guard from what, who stalked Jermaine and why? Who is Jermaine again?

This is so cute on this board! All the newer post have been put at the beginning. What is so funny, though is that after the upgrade when the names changed, you can't REALLY tell who posted what.

However, and this is really funny. I have some of the original post. There were either people cloning each other. OR, people who were supposed to be friends attacking each other.

How revealing it was for TMZ to upgrade their system. That was like the ultimate comeuppance for some, wasn't it? I mean, who'd a thunk it, right?

I had a really crappy day, but in spite of the day and everything possibly wrong with my day, this really made me smile. I have gotten over the he said/she said stuff and moved on. I just wanted to say that.

I am still not sure what is going on but I have a much better understanding. Looking forward to the next year and 1/2 of stories and see where they lead us.
