Plaxico Takes All Expenses Paid Trip to Rome...

Plaxico Burress... New York, where he'll now be staying in a luxurious prison known as the Oneida Correctional Facility.

The New York State Department of Correctional Services tells us Plaxico was moved from Ulster Correctional Facility in Napanoch, NY this morning and taken to his new permanent home at Oneida, which is in Rome, New York.

We're told Plaxico -- who was sentenced to two years in prison last week -- will be separated from the general population and staying in the long-term protective custody unit.

We're told there are only 18 inmates currently staying in Plax's section of the prison -- which can hold up to 43 at a time.

8. I think this guy is guilty of colossal stupidity, but i think the punishment is way too harsh. You get people driving drunk and killing another person, and they only get one year in prison. he shot HIMSELF in the leg. no one else was hurt. our justice system is totally out of whack. 6 months would've been more fair... He would've learned his lesson with that.

9. For those unfamiliar with our gun laws in NYC: Carrying an unlicensed firearm carries a maximum sentence of five years. Discharging such in a public place should result in additional time. Plaxico was stupid for:
Carrying the weapon in the first place, tucked into sweat pants no less;
Safety OFF;
Fumbled when it started to slip;
Grabbed for it and accidentally discharged into his leg;
Turned down a sweet plea bargain of 6 months plus probation.
Guaranteed, if this had been any one of us, we would be looking at some long, hard time. This moron got of easily.

10. wow, god bless u plaxico. and for all of u haters, this man assaulted hisself accidentally. He never harmed anyone else so what's up with bashing him. this goes for TMZ as well, we have all fallen short of the glory of god which is Jesus Christ.
