You are so right. He had so many years to change his will to remove Branca or to add someone from his family, yet he didn't do that.
These conspiration theorists wonder why John Branca was brought back days or weeks before Michael's death. I believe he either realized that before such a tour he needed a REAL good counsel (see Mr Weitzman's statement that Branca was rehired as "general and entertainment counsel in his business and personal affairs") or maybe he really feared he would die and wanted to have the executor of his will near him. Either way, it doesn't strike me as odd that Branca was back in June.

News today, the court just gave Branca more power over the estate.
