Dave May Have Had His Very Own Intern

10/3/2009 8:15 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

A woman who interned for David Letterman in the early 90's says she was one of Letterman's top 10 -- on the staff.

Holly Hester
tells TMZ the internship was her first job in TV. At the time she was a student at NYU. Hester says during a hiatus, Dave called her up and asked her to the movies. It began a series of secret dates, with no one on the staff having any idea. She says, "I was madly in love with him at the time. I would have married him. He was hilarious."

Hester says Dave ended it after a year -- she says he told her the age span was just too great.

We placed several calls to Dave's rep. So far, no comment.

How can Dave consider himself a "victim" when he was having relations with several of his employees over two decades? I think Halderman should get protection under the "whistleblower" clause. Dave's had enough whistleblowing for awhile!

CBS will not fire David Letterman, he's their cash cow! He makes $35.1 million/yr................

The top 10 confessing to a relationship with him, at this time, so what! I bet DL controlled ALL relationships and his wife who worked for him and dated him for 23 yrs, KNEW!!!!!!!

ALL THE RELATIONSHIPS WERE CONSENUAL!!!

I wonder what happens with Halderman's ex-wife now. I understand that she was getting about $7,000 a month in child support. With him in jail and not working, she can't get payments from him, and when he gets out of jail, he won't be able to make a decent salary. That is so sad.

David Letterman=A Phony, A Jerk, A Sleeze Bag

CBS will keep Letterman until the sponsors leave. It will go the way of TLC and Jon & Kate Plus 8. The media and CBS (Old Boys Club) backed the as*hole and continues to back Letterman. The public will finally be sickened by his antics (they say there is alot of the story yet to be revealed) and plead for a new host. Letterman made his millions while preying on Young Interns (female staff).

CBS had to have known this was going on but continued to support him. Extortion revealed all Dave Letterman's dirty secrets and the secrets CBS and the media kept. Oh, the power of the almighty DOLLAR.

These women were 20, 30 plus years younger than him...that makes him a pervert taking advantage of young inexperienced souls.

Dave Letterman's Mother must be in Midwest Shock or maybe not, he's got decades of sickening behavior that has been rewarded with millions of dollars. Guess Dave will have to remodel her kitchen again to make "nice, nice" to dear old Mom.

His sarcastic humor should be directed at himself. The audience's reaction during the recalling of the extortion plot was so uncomfortable and ridiculous, but that's what Letterman is all about. Letterman's thinks he all that but he is a Dirty Old Man with money.

David Letterman, leave before CBS loses revenue, it will take financial loss before CBS "sees the light". It's taken TLC a very long time "SPINNING" the story but the people have spoken.

"You sow what you reap".

Oh dear me!! I have always been a huge fan of David's.
I'm pretty old so I have been a fan for a long time but
then he got old and stupid! I just quit watching him a
long time ago. He is just so full of himself now! To
much money, to few brains. Like I really need for Letterman
to talk politics!! He just did not know when to quit, yes
young women will have sex with you because they think it
will get them somewhere. Anyway, Johnny Carson got mixed up
with staff members, not a good thing but easy prey. I know
little Harry will be so glad that Letterman was his Dad!!

Is that in the CBS policy. CEO Les, dated Julie Chen while married then left his wife of 26 years to marry Julie. Julie is OVER 20 years younger than Les.

I've read several accounts where these women have stated that Dave is very generous. TMZ ought to check up on this and see what kind of dole he was paying with that $35 million+ annual salary. Perhaps he paid their NYC rent or maybe even their NYU Law School education. Is this a conflict with CBS policy for bosses and subordinates and could it even raise IRS issues for gifting???

How does CBS now feel paying this guy all the money to find that it is being partly used as a pass-through to facilitate Letterman's sexual pursuits. While I don't think there was a quid-pro-quo for sex, the fact that this sleazy 6os guy is wooing 20-25 year-olds. CBS should fire him, if it were not for the ill-advised extortion scheme. The guy should have instead gone to TMZ. An earlier author notes the SBC good ol buddy system and Leslie Moonves' younger wife. To be honest, buth Moonves and his wife have what appears to be a lot of class and look perfectly suited for one another. Letterman is instead just working to get into his young female staff's pants.

Looks like Dave's chickens are coming home to roost...Making inappropriate comments about a 14 year old girl, regardless of whose daughter she is, was the tip of the iceberg for "Ol' Dave"...His true colors are coming out in full force, and it turns out that Sarah Palin had a right to be concerned about Dave's penchant for young women...
CBS should pay closer attention to what their own are doing, and respond accordingly...Dave needs to go...His wife needs to get as far away from him as possible, and take Harry with her...No man who openly scoffs at his own indiscretions and obvious sexual addictions should be trusted...He's not a proper example for his young son, and his attitude towards women leaves a lot to be desired...
Now run off and grow even older with your bitter self Dave...

LOVE how all these Palin apologists are coming out of the woodwork to bash Dave for daring to date adult women & have sex. You are the hypocrites for only moralizing when it's someone you don't like or who doesn't bow down to your false idol Sarah. When Sarah or her family or Rush or Dubya or whoever on the right "sin", you're all about making excuses for them. But if it's a Democrat, they should lose their jobs, be tarred & feathered & burn in hell. Your own evil deeds will come back to haunt you when you meet your maker. Ever hear of "Judge not, lest ye be judged"?????? Dave is hilarious & I'm actually happy to hear that he's had a fulfilling sex life. He's a terrific guy (I used to work for him on his morning show) & his staff is fiercely loyal because he is a stand-up person. He's also a comedian, that is his profession & it's his job to tell jokes, you repugnant Republican idiots. Get a dictionary & then look in the mirror & admit your own crimes against humanity (like flocking to TMZ to bash someone you've never even met).

"#132 Qwerty, yes..of course a PR move..he had no choice at that point..I do admire how he handled it all from the beginning.."

it was an intelligent way to handle it, but frankly, I do not care about his personal life or this situation, I do not like the guy because he censors artists (and not just Bill Hicks, which he has apologized for).
