good work! i'm still glad they found it/released it. i really like the sound of his voice here.

**************

Michael wrote this song for another artist. It's called "I Never Heard" by Safire and it was released in 1991.

This song hasn't been on Michael's radar since 1991. Sony heard the first three words of the Demo and took advantage of it.
According to the New York Times article,

"We just found the song, Mr. Stringer said. It was titled This Is It. It was in a box, and we listened to it.
This Is It was also to have been the title of Mr. Jacksons 50-concert run in London, although the synergy is unclear; Mr. Stringer and others with knowledge of the production say the song was not part of it.""

Keywords: WAS NOT PART OF IT. This song had nothing to do with the concerts.

This is a demo. Technically, not a new song either. Michael wrote this in 1980, recorded it in 1984. It was going to go on the Dangerous album, but was cut.

What you're listening to is a demo that has been refurbished by Sony and the Jackson brothers. Yeah Michael's vocals aren't amazing, but what did you expect? The song was not finished and the lyrics weren't completely there, which is why you hear a lot of mumbling and words that don't make sense. It was recorded in 1984, and it's a bit hard for Michael to come back and re-record it. He didn't record this song for the tour. He might have plans to sing it on the tour or later re-record it after the tour was finished. But this song is from 1984.

I'm looking foward to hearing the original version with only the piano, which is going to be on the CD. I find the background (brothers and orchestra) distracting.

It's amazing how Sony just happened to have found a song with the words this is it in it? Hmmmmmm.

I know some people don't like it and some do, I happen to like it. It's rough in parts but then soft. And because it is matched up with movie and the movie is about rehearsals I view this song as one too.

I can't speculate the motive (if any) on Sony's part or Michaels brothers - I think there's more to it then what's been put in front of us.

Love you MIchael!

This a demo! Michael wrote and recorded around the early 80's, but he didnt felt it was good, years later he gave the song to a female singer called Safire, the song is originally called "I never heard", Safire recorded it in 1991, search it on youtube you'll see, anyway, Sony heard the FIRST THREE words which are THIS IS IT,and took advantage,

but Sony has nothing new about Michael, Michael had a fight with Sony, all his unrealised materials are in hands of MJ estate NOT SONY, sony its making this to get money, not aring what Michael would have wanted

Michael signed with Sony and his contract was about to finish in 2011, Michael was waiting for it to finish, Michael
did new songs but he never gave them to sony.

really go to youtube search "I never heard by Safire, you'll see... this is all a stupid idea by sony...

anyway, i think its a peaceful beautiful song, i love it cause its Mihael, but MichaeL would have hated it, cause its a DEMO!!!!!, anyway, i love Michael singing style at around 80' even though i prefer his most recent style, from the Dangerous era till his lasts works, but its good, i would really LOVE to hear the other unrealised song " A place with No name" i think its NOT a demo, but they were only 26 seconds...

no wonder why Michael wanted to leave sony...

Kim, that's a good way of looking at it. It makes me feel slightly better. I would have much preferred them to release a typical brilliant MJ song. I'm hoping some of those will come in the future.
