7. You guys need to put things in perspective -- Patti Smith is a great ARTIST. I know this is a shock, but she's the rare female artist who didn't put their whole persona on their sexuality. This is just a cheap shot -- she doesn't ask for this sort of attention. Not nice! And Harvey, you should know better!

14. I agree for those who know nothing about punk rock or music altogether. Patti Smith is the oringinal Punk Poet and revolutionized Punk Rock. Sorry she doesn't resemble Avril Lavigne, but Patti is a true artist. Believe it or not she had her share of fine men, yes she is a woman and is straight. She was also married at one time and has children.

15. Ok, well at least after I googled her she does look better in other pics so it seems this was just a bad hair day. But I did have to do a double take because it does look like two guys. And you don't have to put all your persona in your sexuality to look like a female.
