Army Apologizes for

Seacrest Stalker

11/2/2009 4:53 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The U.S. Army is issuing an official apology to Ryan Seacrest -- after learning his alleged stalker is one of their own.

Seacrest Stalker
TMZ just spoke with Lt. Col. Nathan Banks, an Army spokesperson, who told us: "We apologize to Ryan Seacrest. Pending the outcome of the local investigation, the Army will decide what further action to take. We take all matters of our personnel seriously."

As TMZ first reported, Chidi Uzomah is currently a member of the U.S. Army reserves -- and is assigned to a special forces unit. Translation -- he's a very dangerous man.

If the Army feels it should appologize for the behavior of its men and women, for what they 24/7, if it is not tasteful; then why not appologize to the people who have been raped, spouses and children abused, and families killed in drunk driving accidents. I am not saying the Army is running around doing horrible things. I am saying they are people, and people do these things. And with the Army so large, and in place for so long, why have I not heard of chronic appologies from the military for the behavior of their people.... hmmmm... maybe that would make it harder to recruit if we did not think they had spotless records, like the Marines like to spin. A stalker is bad news, but why does Ryan deserve an appology when people who were actually physically harmed did not get one.
