Kiefer Sutherland's $700 Morning Bar Tab

11/3/2009 2:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Kiefer Sutherland racked up the following $700 bar tab between 7am and 1pm. Yes, those times are correct.

Kiefer Sutherland
We've learned the "24" star and members of the show's crew popped into The Spot in San Pedro, California last week after wrapping up a shoot nearby -- and they were ready to get their drink on.

According to an employee at the bar, Kiefer was throwing back scotch & Cokes and bought drinks for everybody in the joint -- roughly 30 people. The total damage: $500. No food ... all booze.

The drinks may have been stiff, but Kiefer wasn't -- we're told he tipped $200.

FYI: We're told Sutherland -- who has a few DUIs under his belt -- was responsible this time and used a designated driver when he left the bar.

Great to see that he's tcb with the driving; party on dude! I would hate to see an incident where he's tanked and gets in a car and hurts someone. He's so talented and deserves as long a career as his pappy, you know?

One thing I can tell you, as a Property Master in the biz, is that the film business is different than others. We shoot a lot of nights, so when we finish working it is sometimes early a.m.

It's the same as a group of co-workers going out after work. This just happens to be in the morning. Nothing to right your panties in a bunch over!

Do a street view on Google of this place. 2139 S Pacific Ave in San Pedro. What a sleazy dive.

Maybe his daddy should have taught him how to drink scotch like an adult....with coke???...... give me a break maybe with a little umbrella stuck in it as well how Hollywood. Probably single malt as well just a total and abject waste of scotch.

Used a designated driver? Good for Kiefer. It's his life so the rest I suppose wouldn't be any of our business. I love this guy & always have. Do hope he's okay though.

I with the others that commented about the bartender getting a $200.00 and the selling his info to the rags. By the way, 7:00 is only a big deal if you woke up at 6:00a.m., sounds like they were up working through the night.

I agree with the #6 poster. If such a nice tip was left, why couldn't the place and the bartender shut up and let them have a private party. I'll bet they don't come back and the bar could have maybe had more business from them if they had kept their traps shut. Bad business move. http://newsy1.wordpress.com

Thats peanuts for a staff party. We were recently at a Casino and
the owner of a hockey team and his ladyfriend were ordering $800.00 bottles of wine and drinking it like water. He dropped thousands for drinks on just himself and his chickie (which was not his wifey)...
Never mind $$$$ on high stakes table, but its his money and he can spend it on whatever, he earned it. Also the bar girls were well tipped that night.

Seriously. As others have mentioned, it's not a big deal to be have a few beverages if you've just gotten off a graveyard shift.

Something you may not realize is that down in San Pedro, most of the bars deal with mostly union Dock Workers and Frieght guys that work the Port of Los Angeles. They are on *all sorts* of odd shifts (end times, splits, shares, lunch periods).

Now as to KS 'has a drinking problem'... that's not for me to judge.
