Larry Johnson The Kansas City Chiefs have officially kicked Larry Johnson to the curb -- cutting the running back from the NFL team in the wake of his gay slur scandal.

Johnson was just 75 yards away from becoming the team's all-time leading rusher when he was suspended last month, and now it seems he'll remain number two.

The move to chop Johnson gives Chiefs fans one thing to cheer about this season -- in the last few days, tons of KC fans signed a petition to get rid of the running back.

Johnson had used the homophobic f-word in verbal attacks twice in two days -- he also publicly ripped the team's coach.

He also sucks now ... so the team should be better off without him anyway.

3. It is about time our society show some responsibility when it comes to sports and other celebrity. Good-- maybe Mr. Johnson will think the next time he puts someone else down-- whether it be the coach or any other human.

6. What a joke I have heard many famous people what have used Gay slurs..and the most they got were some anrgy e-mails...why is this man begging kicked off of a team.. he was angry... they should have made him pay a fine and an aplogie.. should have beeen sufice.. wow I hope he gets picked up by a better team cuz they sucked anyway.. hopefully he learned his lesson...

8. You TMZ people need to stay off sports stories. Johnson was injured two years straight, got arrested twice, has been gaining 2.something yards a carry (I know TMZ people don't know anything about that) AND ripped his coach publicly. The gay stuff wasn't what got him cut.

9. Honestly, who cares anyways, the CHIEFS suck. Im from Kansas and usually cheer for them, but for the past few years, they are a joke and wont waste my money on a ticket.

The Chiefs still owe Johnson, whose contract runs through the 2012 season, $2.275 million — the remaining portion of his $4.55 million salary this season.

ohnson established an NFL single-season record with 416 rushing attempts in 2006 when he set a franchise single-season mark with 1,789 rushing yards.
