Jon & Kate Emergency!

11/23/2009 7:55 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Jon and Kate Gosselin may have a new player in the divorce. We've learned the lawyer who repped Jon Gosselin at the beginning of his divorce has just filed an emergency petition to intervene in the case .. and it's all over money.

Attorney Charles Meyer withdrew from the case in September, just before Mark Heller took over. Prior to his withdrawal, we're told there was an agreement with Jon that his lawyer's fees would be paid from Jon's share of the property distribution. We're told Jon owes Charles around $43,000 so Charles is asking the judge to make sure he gets paid before Jon gets his cut.

As we first reported, the divorce is coming in for a landing, and the arbitrator will decide within 30 days who gets what.

Story developing ...

This is what America has come down to. 300 MILLION Gosselin fanatics who can think of nothing else, leaving about 5 MILLION who pay no attention to the Gosselins because they have interesting lives of their own.

#26. Meyer obtained the court's permission to withdraw. That is not easily obtained. The two biggest reasons are (1) a client who will not pay his fees and a (2) client who refuses to follow legal advice & or wants the attorney to commit unethical acts and thus prevents the attorney from adequately representing him. If what the article says about the fee agreeement is right, then it sounds like he may have resigned as Jon's attorney because of reason 2. On the other hand, the man had a client who was spending money like a drunken sailor and living in a $5,000.00 a month apartment and he agrees to put off getting paid with his payment coming from Jon's share of the property settlement. That's just plain stupid. However, he is entitled to be paid for work he performed.

Jon should be filled with shame & self-loathing for all he has done this last year. Jon Gosselin: America's Most Despised Loser. I hope he is sitting in a lonely apartment very depressed and asking how he could be such an idiot. Next up is his dealings with all the lawsuits..I hope they leave him with what he is worth...NOTHING.

Why Not

Jon's 'emergency' over legal fees outstanding does not constitute a financial obligation for Kate or the kids. He played, he pays. He isn't at bottom yet, but he's falling at maximum velocity and when he hits... it ain't gonna be pretty. Why? Because he will go back after Kate and the kids to support him. He's a loser.

What is the point in even deciding who gets the house? The house cost over a million dollars and they did not buy it out right, they will never be able to keep up with the monthly payment of the house.

They midest well sell it before they lose it and use the profit to buy another home that fits there new budget. Them two buying that house was totally foolish, nones reality tv show last forever and they are lucky theres lasted as long as it did.
