Adam Lambert: I Respect GMA's Decision, But ...

11/24/2009 4:10 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Adam Lambert takes issue with "Good Morning America" for pulling the plug on his post-AMA/mouth-to-crotch performance -- so he tells Ryan Seacrest.

Adam Lambert: Click to listen

Lambert's revenge is CBS's "The Early Show" -- which he'll appear on tomorrow.

As for having a guy "snorkel" in his crotch -- as Ryan put it on his radio show this AM -- Adam admits he got carried away, but he's "not a babysitter" and kids shouldn't have been watching TV that late anyway.

Wow, with that attitude he won't even make it to be a one hit wonder! Madonna worked her way up to shock and even she has always had a bit more respectful when performing on network awards and especially the AMA's. MTV awards would have been the place to do that performance not the AMA's.

But it will be fun watching him have hissy fits and be the male version of Carrie Prajean. Wonder what else isn't going to be his fault?

@ unbelievable,

I mistyped mother as grandmother because your blather wasn't worth a second read. Simmer Down.

As for the FCC fining ABC, they won't because they didn't break any laws.

I am a little lost -what was more important the show or the singing. It was clear that everything was done on purpose- and really tasteless. Lambert should really re-think his PR strategy and get a clue. You are seriously going to loose a lot of audience by pullling the stunts.

FlyersFan,

Madonna was just as racy and pushed the limits, there wasn't a respectful bone in her body (I'm okay with all of her work, but not a huge fan). I was in my 30s when she first came on tv and it was JUST LIKE THIS.

i think they GMA did the right thing. So many kids watched the AMA to see they're favorite artist and then they see this performance... that gives kids all over the U.S. think stuff like that is appropriate. I don't have anything against Adam Lambert but his performance was very disgusting.

@ Sick American fools, some of them anyway

Exactly. If I had children I would be much more concerned with them hearing about violence, rape and the like, from a person who sings about it. Some peoples' priorities are so hypocritical and out of whack.

You know I WAS a fan ...somewhat ..He has a great voice but a little too theatrical for my taste. Nobody will ever take you seriously now Adam. You came off like a queen. A flamboyant, over the top, vulgar queen. Before this you were just gay and a little flamboyant. Now you belong in a gay pride parade dancing and singing in a costume. Too bad because you "were" talented.

The FCC guidelines for indecency do cover the hours between 6-10:00. However, if his act is determined to be OBSCENE, then that is a different story.

"Obscene Broadcasts Are Prohibited at All Times"

"Obscene material is not protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution and cannot be broadcast at any time. The Supreme Court has established that, to be obscene, material must meet a three-pronged test:

An average person, applying contemporary community standards, must find that the material, as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest;

The material must depict or describe, in a patently offensive way, sexual conduct specifically defined by applicable law; and

The material, taken as a whole, must lack serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value.

It is a judgment call and could go either way. In my opinion, he crossed the line when he rubbed the man's face in this groin. That wasn't necessary and could constitute a lewd, public sexual act.

It is stupid that he would do this for the "shock value" when it will only cause more problems for other entertainers when the FCC tightens the reigns once again.

Think with the head on your shoulders next time!
