Tiger Woods

Injured in Car Crash

11/27/2009 1:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Car Crash
UPDATE
-- According to Tiger's rep, he was in a "minor" accident, "admitted, treated and released today in good condition."

Tiger Woods
is in "serious" condition after being involved in a single car crash near his home in Florida early this morning.

The crash occurred at 2:20 AM in Windermere. He was taken to Health Central Hospital with facial lacerations.

Woods struck a fire hydrant and then a tree on a neighbor's property. The fire hydrant is reportedly less than 100 feet from his driveway.

Police say alcohol was not a factor. There were no signs of alcohol on the scene. We're told the police have yet to speak to Tiger.

The police report reads, "DRIVER HAD JUST PULLED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AT HIS RESIDENCE ... AS V1 BEGAN TO DRIVE ON DEACON CIRCLE, V1 STRUCK A FIRE HYDRANT. THE FRONT OF V1 THEN STRUCK A TREE ... THE DRIVER WAS TRANSPORTED TO HEALTH CENTRAL HOSPITAL. THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION AND CHARGES ARE PENDING."

We're told charges could range from DUI to reckless driving ... to nothing.

He was driving a 2009 Cadillac SUV. FHP says the airbags did not deploy.

Woods was by himself at the time.

His next scheduled event is December 3 in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

Maybe he had a little scratch fight at home and had a driving "accident" in order to cover it up? Rumours abound about a mistress and maybe the Mrs took exception?

The wire news service I subscribe to is now saying this:

Quote:
Professional golfer Tiger Woods was seriously injured in a car accident early this morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Woods, 33, pulled out of his driveway in the Isleworth community about 2:25 a.m. when he struck a fire hydrant, and then drove into a tree at his neighbor's property, Florida Highway Patrol reported.

Alcohol is not related to the accident, Florida Highway Patrol said.

Woods was transported to Health Central Hospital in Ocoee in serious condition, FHP said. No other information about his condition has been released.

A Health Central hospital employee said at 2:30 p.m. that Woods was not a patient. A hospital operator would not say if Woods had been treated and released.

FHP said the airbags in Woods' Cadillac Escalade did not deploy, which means the vehicle was traveling under 33 mph.

Orange County Fire Rescue received the call for aid at 2:28 a.m. Woods was transported from his Windermere-area neighborhood by the hospital's own ambulance.

An Orange County Sheriff's Office official said his agency received it's call for assistance at 2:27 a.m. An operator was told the driver was injured and still inside the vehicle.

FHP did not report the accident until just after 2 p.m. today. The agency said the crash remains under investigation and any charges are pending.

According to his official website, TigerWoods.com, he is in the middle of a two-week break in tournament play. Woods next tournament is Dec. 3-6 at the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

We do NOT know why he was leaving his house. He sure didn't get far. Even the well advertised sleeping medications make cautions about people sleep eating, sleep walking and sleep driving! It could have been something as simple as that or it may involve another health issue, or an emotional issue such as an in-home
argument.

ok was the road wet? every story I have seen doesn't say crap about the road itself.

If he hit both things and the air bags didn't employ then it sounds like he hit them with the side of his car.

was someone hot rodding on a wet road????
