Domestic Violence Group Rips SNL's Tiger Sketch

12/7/2009 7:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

"Saturday Night Live" joked about Tiger Woods being beaten by his wife Elin during a sketch on the show this weekend -- but the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence ... they ain't laughin'.

TMZ spoke with the organization's Executive Director Rita Smith, who told us she was "horrified" that SNL "made such a mockery of abuse."

During the sketch, Woods -- played by Kenan Thompson -- is visibly battered and holding up signs warning that Elin -- played by Blake Lively -- has beaten him.

During the show, the audience laughs, but Smith claims, "There's nothing funny about this story, particularly if violence was part of the events that took place ... I hope that SNL refrains from using this kind of skit in the future as it diminishes people's support for victims of domestic violence."

That was not domestic violence, what Elin did is what any wife would do if she caught her jerk of a husband fooling around!!! I love the skit!!

i think domestic violence is called for in some situations. if i found out that my husband had cheated on my with 7+ hoes without protection while i raise our 2 kids he better hope that the only thing i hit him with is a golf club.

Please tell me people are not really this stupid?! It’s called a COMEDY skit, people. SNL would have no show if they worried about every moron that doesn’t get that it’s a joke. There is only rumors that she beat him up - that is why it was okay to make a joke out of it because we don’t know. It’s not like they were doing a Rhianna/Chris Brown joke. Lighten up. It’s a comedy show, not a serious convention on violence.

Domestic violence is one thing. But, if you cheat, you deserve to get your ass beat.

Medical legal issues

If this had been a skit about Tiger beating his wife, this would not have been funny. There is clearly a double standard at play here. All of you who think this is funny need to ask yourself why you think it is so funny to see a white woman beating her black husband. As time goes on, it appears that domestic violence was committed, and this is a criminal act. Adultery is not.

SERIOUSLY!!!

THIS IS A SATIRE BASED PROGRAM AND IT IS WHAT THEY DO AND HAVE DON'T FOR MANY YEARS.
SOME PEOPLE SEE IT AS A SPOOF OF THE SITUATION WHILE OTHER CHOOSE TO SEE A 'VICTIM' ... WHICH TIGER IS NOT (a victim, that is). TIGER MADE A VERY BAD CHOICE, BUT IT WAS HIS CHOICE NONTHELESS.

Being politically incorrect and outrageous is meant to make you stop and think. Funny is funny and if it makes you stop and think its done its job.

If Rhianna didn't complain then no one should care. Blake Lively knocked that sketch out of the park.
