Hope the girls join AlAnon. It is the best way to help themselves and their parents. I assume their dad has some serious liver damage by now and is on a road to his own demise. He is the only one who can help himself. Denial is like a concrete bunker to an addict of any kind.

It's outrageous that tapes like this are released to the press. We have very strong laws about medical privacy on this country, so why do we release information when someone has to call 911 for medical help?

Damn - can't they get him committed so that he can get some help? Hasn't he proved he is a danger to himself at this point? someone needs to take some grown-up action in that family - and unfortunately it's going to have to be either the kids or the ex-wife. If they can't to this, they have to stay away from him and stop enabling his behavior by rescuing him every time he downs too much booze.

Every time he starts drinking his daughter needs to leave that house and just let him drink himself to death. She is too young to be his damn babysitter. It is obvious he doesn't want to get help, so she needs to realize that there is nothing she can do for him. I know she loves him, but it is up to him. I would just leave the house and come back the next day. If he's still alive, great. If he's not, oh well.
