Mick Foley -- The Carnage of My Cartilage

12/8/2009 4:05 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Not everything about wrestling is fake -- and yesterday at LAX, former WWE star Mick Foley, aka Mankind/Cactus Jack, showed off a real gnarly injury he sustained in the ring.

Foley tore off two-thirds of his ear in a 1994 match -- and reportedly had to choose between reattaching it or wrestling in a title event.

FYI, he went with the latter ... and won.

I thought everyone knew about his ear. He lost several teeth in a Hell in a Cell match as well, not to mention took so many chairshots he said in his biography he couldn't even find his way home.

Oh, and he was also known as Dude Love. The Three Faces of Foley were Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love.

It is incorrect that he had a choice of reattaching. In his autobiography,' Have A Nice Day ", Mick tells of his match with Vader. He preformed a move in which he would get his head caught between the top and second ring ropes. Ring ropes are made of steel. He got caught up too high and it ripped the top part of his ear off. Folley finished the match. When he and the top p[art of his ear got to a hospital it was too late

TMZ is now covering news items 15 years after they happen? Does this mean that TMZ will post an article about the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2016?

WWE should be made to change the name of their cra@p sport. Beating each other with metal chairs is not wrestling, nothing they do is wrestling.

It's just a bunch of overweight, old men making a$$es of themselves. Actually I don't see a big difference between Johnny Knoxville's show Jackass and the WWE.

Mick Foley is probably one of the most intelligent, well spoken guys I've ever met, as well as one of the nicest. He's put his body through hell for the business he loves and I'm glad to see TMZ showing him a little attention.

@ X from comment 6: They DO NOT claim to be a "sport". Where did you ever get such a silly thing? If you were smart, you would know they claim to be entertainment. It's common sense.... WWE stands for World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT.

His Prince Michael

Mick Foley,a LEGENDARY performer who earned his success the
old fashioned way: He BEAT it down to submission.
Besides, he grew-up in Truth or Consequences, N.M., where if
your not tough-as-nails and/or crazy when you get there, you will be by the time you leave. He, along with Steve "Sting" Borden,
Scott "Big Poppa Pump" Steiner, and Samoa Joe (just to name a few), have mastered that rare ability that can make one wonder:
WHERE does performance begin, and Reality end?
Bro's, May God Bless YOU and YOURS.
