The JFK Photo That Could Have Changed History

12/28/2009 4:07 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained a never-before published photograph which appears to show John F. Kennedy on a boat filled with naked women -- it's a photo that could have altered world events.

John F. Kennedy Photograph
We believe the photo was taken in the mid-1950s. It shows two naked women jumping off the boat and two more naked women sunning on the top deck. Just below the top deck -- a man appearing to be John F. Kennedy is lying on a deck, sunning himself.

TMZ had multiple experts examine the photo -- all say there is no evidence the picture was Photoshopped. The original print -- which is creased -- was scanned and examined for evidence of inconsistent lighting, photo composition and other forms of manipulation. The experts all concluded the photo appears authentic.

A forensic photo expert says the print appears to be authentic. The expert says the photo is printed on paper consistent with what was used in the 1950s. The emulsion on the surface of the print has numerous cracks -- the result of aging and handling.

There are numerous articles and books on President John F. Kennedy which mention a 2-week, Mediterranean boating trip that JFK -- then a Senator -- took in August, 1956, with his brother Ted Kennedy and Senator George Smathers. The trio reportedly entertained a number of women on the yacht. Jackie Kennedy was pregnant at the time and was rushed to the hospital while JFK was an the boat. Doctors performed an emergency C-section, but the infant was stillborn.

A forensic analyst superimposed an image of Kennedy taken at the Democratic National Convention in August 1956, just days before Kennedy went on the Mediterranean cruise. The analyst says the features from the two pics almost precisely sync up. TMZ has also had two Kennedy biographers examine the photo -- they also believe JFK is in the picture.

The photo was eventually given to a man who owned a car dealership on the East coast. The man kept it in a drawer for years, and would brag to friends he had an image of JFK on a boat with naked women. The man died 10 years ago and one of his sons inherited the photo.

Had the photo surfaced when John F. Kennedy ran for President in 1960, it could have torpedoed his run, and changed world history.

That being said, my first instinct was that this photo does look shopped. It looks as though the image from the convention was placed on another guy's body -- the angle of Kennedy's head from both photos is exactly the same, which seems a little unlikely. Even the shadow pattern is the same.

I have a B.A. in Art/Photography...and I will tell you this much, I agree with everything Professor Sedlik is saying. The emulsion is obviously lifted due to handling, and the angles of the shadows of everyone (including JFK and the naked women jumping off the boat) are all consistent with each other. It would be extremely difficult to have "doctored" this pic back in the 1950s...there would of had to been a very precise and tedious technique of cropping, dodging and burning, which is very hard to do. And even with today's technology, I see no evidence of photoshop. Someone had mention that the head of JFK is not properly aligned with the body; that is complete BS. It is aligned accordingly, and even if the crack of the paper runs right thru the neck and the rest of the body, it might throw the average joe off...but this photo is indeed authentic. So stop throwing in your 2 cents and claiming that its "PHOTOSHOPPED" when you probably have no expertise in this area at all. Surprise everyone! Not everyone is PERFECT! And if he was with this naked women...who cares? Its always the "clean cut ones" that are the most perverted.

POSSIBILITY: if that photo is from the late 1950's, the tan line on the "jumping" girls butt is quite possible if she had been out just in her underwear on deck or on a beach or deck at any point in time. It doesn't necessarily have to a tan line created by a bikini. Now the question is - were young women wearing underwear that matches that kind of tan line? It's a rather generic tan line, nothing looks anything but typical, but I'm no historian of 1950's panties. Anyone here from the Panties section of the Smithsonian that can help with verification?

This photo is crapola. If you look really close, in the right hand corner-you can see Jesus. JFK and Jesus in the same photo-it is the end of times for sure!

So what ??? Whether it is, or isn't, JFK ... does it REALLY matter now ?? The man is dead for heaven's sake. Let him rest.

We don't need to see pictures that were taken 40 plus years ago. All this is in the past and I can see no reason why it is being shown now. Let the dead be in peace and have a care for the living.

Many years ago I met Judith Campbell... she had just married a family friend. I walked into the room to say hello to her and the room became as cold as ice.

I walked away, never saw her again, but always wondered what the deal was with that cold and icy room. Then maybe 10 years later the news broke that she was f@cking JFK and Sam Giancana at the same time... and maybe had something to do with the Bay of Pigs situation.

Whatever. It was mind numbing to look back.

So yeah. JFK was a player alright.

It's amazing that the public never knew a damn thing.

Hum, this just shows that he was just a typical man, but back then they expected men especially one who might be president to have a certain image. Today this wouldn't kill an election but I think back when he was running this may have changed people's prespective of him.

And why would such a cherished picture be so worn looking? If it were truly a valued pic it would be in far better condition.

All signs point to fake.

TMZ seems to enjoy promoting lies.

The womens' hairstyles are inconsistent with the mid 1950's. This is bunk. A million krinkles and tears and these geniuses say there's no evidence of a photoshop? LOL.
Hey, I believe JFK probably partied. But, a lousy-condition photo surfacing 50 years after the fact, in the era of awesome digital manipulation? Especially with an active conservative movement that's been out to sully this man for decades... Come on, folks. Trust your own common sense.
