Sheen looked cool and a little stoic, awaiting a decision on whether he'll be charged with domestic violence for the Xmas Day fracas with wife Brooke Mueller.
I just received this email from Hanes, about my email that I sent them on Saturday 1/2:
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us regarding our use of Actor
Charlie Sheen in Hanes advertising.
We are aware that some of our previously scheduled Hanes commercials
featuring Mr. Sheen continued to air during the weekend following
Christmas and could not be pulled because of holiday staffing at the
networks and our media buying agencies. The commercials were
successfully suspended beginning Monday, December 28, 2009.
We regret that the commercial continued to air during this sensitive
time period, and we apologize to those who were offended. In no way does
Hanes condone domestic violence of any kind. We are proud of our brand's
reputation and our philanthropic endeavors in supporting women's health
causes and other charities that assist men, women and children in need.
We appreciate your viewpoints. We understand that you are not happy
about Hanes using Charlie
Sheen in a televised commercial role. Your comments and opinions will
help guide us as we evaluate the role of celebrities in our future
advertising campaigns. Thank you for contacting us.
Sincerely,
Hanesbrand Inc.
The fact is that Charlie should not be drinking, and who knows how high his blood alcohol was earlier. Besides, it doesn't matter if he had two drinks or ten drinks, any amount will affect one's judgment. He obviously can't control himself when he drinks, he even yanked her glasses off her face & broke them in this last fight... if her family wasn't there, what else would he have done to her? This guy sounds dangerous when he drinks, if the wife & kids go back to him their safety and lives are at risk. All it takes is one time for Charlie to get drunk and lose control.
I have never been one to purchase a product or service simply because a "celebrity" endorses it. Doesnt matter that Mr. Sheen lost this cash flow, he's loaded. $800,000 per episode is a pretty good check. He a hard working hedonistic guy with some issues......theres not a person on the planet that can say they don't. I only hope those of you that are quick to crucify "entertainers" are just as quick to turn in your family members and friends that may have the same issues....
Britney Spears might miss a lot more 'X Factor' auditions ... because she can! Simon Cowell gave Brit damn near free reign in order to sign the pop star to that $15 million deal -- but is it backfiring? We'll tell you what peeps on the set are saying.Plus, Chris Jericho's…
