Octomom Wins Battle to Control Octofinances

1/9/2010 11:43 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

OctomomA judge in Santa Ana, Calif. took the side of Octomom Nadya Suleman yesterday and smacked aside a petition filed by some guy trying to get the court to appoint an independent guardian to monitor her children's money.

A random guy named Paul Petersen had filed, and been granted, a petition to have someone watch over their moolah since Octomom was striking all sorts of deals. But yesterday a California appeals court ruled in her favor, vacated the previous order, and called the whole thing an "unprecedented, meritless effort by a stranger."

Octomom can go about profiting off her children without further interference.

By random guy they really meant complete tool. And as anyone can tell you, calling Paul a complete tool is extremely accurate.

She should be made to repay the taxpayers for the aid she has received including the cost for the hospital. I wonder if the taxpayers paid for the fertilization treatments.

So who ended up paying for the million dollar hospital bill? The tax payers?
If she is making so much money, should she pay back the tax payers of California for all the food stamps etc. she received?

He's just another Idiot

Octomom is the most repulsive person in Ameria. The children should be put up for adoption. With her as a mother, those kids don't have a chance. She is a NUTCASE and should be put in a Psycho Ward.

He's just another Idiot

The Judge shoud be thrown out. Octomorom will spend all their money and the children will be on Welfare before they are teenagers. Somebody else should step in quick and see that Octomoron doesn't steal all of their money.

Isn't Harvey an attorney? Doesn't he know Paul Peterson? This site needs a proofreader.

Black Barbie

I guess everyone has introduced you to Paul Petersen. I agree. He and A Minor Consideration do important work protecting the rights and earnings of child performers. Unfortunately, there is a long list of child performers whose parents have either exploited their talents or mismanaged their earnings or both.

Octomom is in over her head as a parent and a financial guardian. It's very likely that she and her children will return to the same financial straits they were in prior to the octuplets birth. Petersen was right to bring attention to children's case. I'm sure we'll be hearing about their exploitation again.

truthfully yours

This is not the first time I have found errors or totally wrong or misleading stories on TMZ. When I have watched the TV version it looks like Harvey has hired a bunch of street people to staff his operation. Why doesn't he hire some actual entertainment writers who know a little bit about what goes on in the entertainmet world?
I'm switching to I am sure they know who Paul Peterson is.

Paul Petersen advocate

Come on, TMZ.... Why would some "random guy" file a lawsuit to protect the children's finances? Didn't your curiosity kick in enough to check it out?

I've listened to the live verbal banter enough to figure out that TMZ does not have a staff of Einsteins. And sometimes Harvey does not uses the highest brain power either.

If TMZ is going to give us 'breaking news' and BRAG about it, then at least research your story!!!

Some of you might be interested in how Paul Peterson got started being an advocate for child actors. Besides being a child actor himself, and observing other child actors struggle as they grew up, a personal tragedy with a friend was the motivation behind his life's work. TMZ is amazingly stupid since they claim to be some sort of celebrity rag. Even when they don't know something, they seem to have no curiosity nor interest in finding out. Curiosity is a mark of intelligence.

The friend was Rusty Hamer, the child actor who played the son on Danny Thomas's show, Make Room for Daddy.

Born in Tenafly, New Jersey, Rusty Hamer grew up on TV as Rusty Williams, Danny Thomas's freckle-faced son on Make Room for Daddy. As a young five-year-old actor, his wisecracking behavior made him a popular character during the show's 351-episode run. Thomas, who could occasionally be spotted trying not to crack up in Hamer's scenes, would later publicly praise Hamer's extraordinary comic timing.

Hamer attempted a brief return to show business in 1970 as a married medical student in the show Make Room for Grandaddy, a sequel of Make Room for Daddy, but the show was canceled after one season. He appeared occasionally in bit parts on television shows such as Green Acres, but work became increasingly sporadic. Hamer eventually moved to Louisiana where he worked as a short order cook.

On January 18, 1990, Hamer died at age 42 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head in DeRidder, Louisiana.[2] His death raised awareness of the potential mental fragility of child performers, and inspired fellow child actor Paul Petersen to found A Minor Consideration, a support group striving to improve working conditions for young actors, as well as assisting former child stars in making the transition from past fame to adult life.[3]

For his contribution to television, Hamer earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, located on 6323 Hollywood Boulevard.

And just because some of you will not know this, I think I'll include this information, too.

Danny Thomas was a struggling actor and comedian. He was about to fail in his attempts at having a career. He prayed one night that if God would allow him to be a success at his work, he would do something in return.

God did allow him great success, and Danny Thomas, in return, founded the hospital St. Jude for children. I know most of you will have heard of St. Jude's because his daughter Marlow Thomas is on TV frequently raising money for it. They treat children with catastrophic illnesses, and never turn a child away who needs them. They also do a lot of research into childhood illnesses.
