Slash Gear Banned from Guns N' Roses Concert

1/24/2010 9:16 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

SlashGuns N' Roses fans were forced to take sides in the legendary war between Axl Rose and Slash -- after security at a recent GNR show banned fans from wearing Slash gear inside the show.

It all went down at the GNR show in Canada last Wednesday -- concert security informed fans that they were required to turn their Slash t-shirts inside out .... and leave their top hats outside.

TMZ spoke with a member of the concert security team who confirmed the marching orders -- and told us the instructions were passed down from a producer for the band.

We're told a few fans took the high road and went home ... but most just sucked it up and did what they were told.

LOL at all of you. This story has already been proven to be a farce. IT NEVER HAPPENED. A butthurt moderator at one of the fan forums stirred this up as part of an ongoing effort to silently get back at Axl for being rejected from both the backstage area and after parties from the Madison Square Garden show in 2006. Repeated attempts to gain access; all denied lol.

Truth

Maybe Axl needs to be reminded how many albums Chinese democracy sold sold with the new and improved Guns and roses!

Gee Axil aren't you a little old to be so jealous? Grow up or you will be the bad guy when "Behind the Music" says "And then there was Axil Rose". You are short, so you kinda gotta expect it.

7. According to the fan site from which this story was originally reported, it turned out to be just a hoax. Someone called the arena and recorded their conversations with the employees and then uploaded them on youtube.

LOL at the dismissive apologists. Check out this video from Rock In Rio 3 back in 2001

The news broke out originally on a fan forum recently, but I wouldn't say it turned out to look like a hoax. The discussion went on and on, and people stopped calling it a hoax a while ago and more and more started discussing a possible cover up.

At the GNR show in Edmonton (that's in Canada, TMZ) on January 17th, Axl played the first three songs wearing a black top hat.

Huh...I kinda thought concerts held at county fairs were generally limited to spring and summer months. Leave it to Canada to buck the trend to keep these guys in leather pants for another couple of years. Wonder who opened...Winger? Maybe Quiet Riot? Yeah, I know he died (newsflash), but they probably sound pretty much the same as they did a quarter century ago.

Just because Axlrod blew Slash that one time is no reason to shut him out forever. I know, I know, he promised the check was in the mail butt.....

This photo is of Metal Skool (now known as Steel Panther), a Los Angeles-based parody heavy metal band. Is TMZ in the habit of using photos to mislead its readership? Shocking! Maybe TMZ uses incorrect sources as well....
