'Pants on the Ground' Used in Political Attack

1/25/2010 5:09 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The "Pants on the Ground" phenomenon has infiltrated the Canadian government -- where one member of the legislative assembly broke out in song to attack a member from a rival political party.

T.J.: Burke: Click to watch
It all went down Friday morning inside the New Brunswick Legislature -- when veteran politician T.J. Burke used "General" Larry Platt's theme song to explain how an opposition member had been caught with his "pants on the ground" during a recent radio interview.

Details aside -- it's just funny.

Check out this video. Nice!

Strong message here from the TEA PARTY movement. This really is non
political, but a strong message to congress, senate and
administration.

Hope you enjoy this. America Rising:

As a New Brunswick-er, and a liberal, that is mildly embarrassing, and not a good reflection of New Brunswick ... but at all embarrassing things, you just gotta laugh.

I'm a New Brunswicker, and although it may be not necessarily the best way of going about it, he did certainly grab peoples' attention!

13. I'd be embarrassed to be Canadian after seeing that. Are all your Liberal politicians childish, attention seeking fools like this?

... Maybe you should worry about how your own Congress and Senate is acting before judging how we, Canadians, perceived a member of a provincial party. American Congressmen and Senators... now there's some embarrassment!

And, as for the so-called Canucks who didn't get the humor out of this situation, I'm pretty certain it's because of folks like you that we're still stuck with Harper and his pathetic Pro-Right agenda, which is destroying our once proud country. Basically, you guys suck.

I think what people need to remember is that this was during 'question period' where here in Canada politicians have a free question period to ask one another various questions regarding policy, or other current events. These questions are moderated by the speaker, but don't necessarily follow strict protocol, as was demonstrated here.

New-Brunswick is a PROVINCE in Canada, and the Legislative Assembly is the governing body. Out here we have senses of humours, don't take eachother too seriously, but still manage to get business done. Who said being a stuffy politician was law? Time for everybody to LIGHTEN UP!
