Fan Buys Michael Jackson's Vegas Home

1/28/2010 12:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Michael Jackson's Las Vegas home is now in good hands -- a fan of MJ's just plunked down $3.1 million to be the new king of the singer's old castle.

Michael Jackson's Las Vegas Home

Problem is ... selling the house wasn't as easy as you think. One of the real estate agents tells us after Michael's death, tons of fans flooded the mansion pretending to be potential buyers ... but were lying just to get a peek at the King of Pop's old digs.

One deep-pocketed fan ended up being the real deal -- and ended up buying the nearly 16,000 sq ft. palace.

I, too, think it would be kinda unique to walk through the rooms knowing Michael had lived there. Seems kind of hollow, though, just looking at the pictures. Don't think that was where his heart was at but it sure is a beautiful place for a temporary refuge. I thought that was the place he rented; I believe he was looking at something far more grandiose for after the concert tour ... Don't forget to stay tuned for the Grammy's on Sunday!!

1. Michael never owned or lived in this house. He went to look at it to buy. This is the house that he wanted to buy after the London tour was over. He was going to live there with his children and have a show in Vegas. That was his plan. I am glad a fan bought the home. I wish that person alot of joy living in this home knowing that Michael loved it also!

Speechless, you are confused. This is a home he rented when he returned to the U.S. There was another Vegas home, that people dubbed "Wonderland" That MJ had intended to buy, if he could, when the This Is It shows were done.

"We Are The World" Remake to Feature Usher, John Legend & More

It was 25 years ago when some of music's biggest names including Michael Jackson, Billy Joel and Bruce Springsteen banded together to record "We Are the World" benefiting African famine relief. Now, Hollywood megastars are joining forces once again for a new recording that will aid Haiti.
Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie were set to have a 25 year anniversary celebration on Jan. 28 for the charity song, yet after the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on Jan. 12, the duo decided to change gears. They pushed back the date (to Feb. 1, the day after the Grammy's) and are planning a massive all-star re-recording of the hit.

Invited artists include Usher, Natalie Cole and John Legend, and a rumored line-up includes Miley Cyrus, Will Smith, Justin Bieber, Sugarland, Jason Mraz, Jennifer Hudson, Sting, Fergie and Haiti native Wyclef Jean, among others. And just like the 1985 version, invited artists will produce a recording which will be turned into a video and single.

George Clooney's wildly successful telethon Hope for Haiti Now has raised $57 million and counting, and the event's album is number one on this week's Billboard charts. See how other celebrities are helping here.

Who would you like to hear sing in the “We Are the World” remake?

In regards to the We Are The World remake:

I think they should remake it with the artists who want to participate, but edit in MJ's parts from the original song. It'd be so sweet to hear him again in a new song.

LOL! I saw this article yesterday on Google news & started to post the link too. TMZ gettin' slooooooowwwwwww...OR, maybe because the article didn't portray MJ in a 'negative' light, TMZ didn't think it was met their criteria for being newsworthy.

MJ's children may perform at Grammy Awards

Michael Jackson's children could perform at the Grammy Awards.

Katherine Jackson - who is now the legal guardian of Prince Michael, 12, Paris, 11, and Prince Michael II, seven - is reportedly in talks with organisers about whether the kids could sing one of their father's songs at the ceremony at Los Angeles' Staples Centre on Monday.

A source said: "Michael first unveiled his legendary moonwalk at the Grammys, so it's only right they all go out with a tribute."

The tribute, which is set to include the premiere of the Earth Song mini-movie, will feature performances from stars including Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion and Smokey Robinson.

Singer Keri Hilson - who is up for two awards, Best New Artist and Best Rap/Song - can't wait for the ceremony and the Michael Jackson tribute, but has no idea what to wear.

She said: "I guess my aim would be to stand out. I want it to be kind of the humble approach of being at the Grammys for the first time, first album. So I want that, something great but not something like, 'I'm here. I've arrived.' "
