Charlie Sheen -- Hey, OnStar Really Works

2/5/2010 12:06 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie SheenCharlie Sheen got one hell of a wake up call this morning when an operator from an OnStar-like service called to inform him that his SUV had crashed.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Sheen got the call around 4AM when his remote diagnostics company received an alert that the car had been involved in a wreck and the airbags had deployed.

We're told Sheen alerted his security team who inspected the home and confirmed that the car had been stolen.

Cops later found the wrecked SUV 100 feet down Mulholland Drive.

We're told the L.A. Fire Department used an infrared scanner to search for any victims, but the search came up empty.

Cops are still hunting for a suspect.

For starters TMZ, the car in question is an S550, a sedan, not an SUV. Also for those of you so quick to pass judgement on matters you have vague information about. He lives in a gated community and OTHER CARS in the community were also vandalized last night meaning some criminals were out and about. The reason he didnt know it was stolen was because it was in the MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT and he didnt find out till Mercedes called his phone to inquire about his safety after the SOS system in the car was activated after the crash. Exercise patience people and know the FACTS before you crucify.

That was a really good plunge down a cliff - If Charlie was in the car he would have had a hell of time getting back up the cliff without a mark on him and that fast to get the on-star call, alert his security and call the cops - I don't believe he could have accomplished something amazing, especially if he had been drinking.

Just sayin'

Maybe it was a conspiracy of the Bush administration and they stole your car Charlie! They were trying to blow you up because of your "inside knowledge " of Sep. 11th

LMAO!!!!

Not buying the crocodile tears

What a douche! I think this poster was correct:
"He was pissed that he is being charged with a felony and took it out on his wife's fancy car, his druggie wife was coming back from rehab to claim the fancy suv he purchased her so he had it dumped off a cliff so that the bitch would not get her grubby hands on it."

Hey, I had an ex-boyfriend whose Ferrari was "stolen". It was found right after the time he collected out from the insurance policy. Pretty convenient if you ask me!

Attaboy, Charlie! What's most confounding about this is how he was just slapped with felony charges yesterday. Hmmmm. 1+1=?????

Well, it looks like Sheen probably actually wasn't responsible for this one, and I may have to eat my earlier words. Apparently they've found a second vehicle in that same ravine, and other vehicles in his gated community were vandalized.

Sounds like they seriously need some better security in that community, and a better gate apparently. Still, it's pretty negligent to leave your flippin keys in your very expensive SUV, and to leave the garage door open. Not much appreciation for money.
