LAPD/D.A. Feud Derails Dr. Murray Arraignment

2/5/2010 10:11 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

The scheduled arraignment Friday for Dr. Conrad Murray in the death of Michael Jackson will not take place as scheduled because of the feud between the L.A. County D.A. and the LAPD over Dr. Murray's surrender.

Dr. Conrad Murray and Michael Jackson

As we first reported, the LAPD was bent out of shape -- and that is an understatement -- because the D.A. had kept cops in the dark and had been working with Dr. Murray's lawyers to arrange a voluntary surrender in court at the time of the arraignment.

The plan as of Thursday afternoon: Dr. Murray's lawyers would drive him to the L.A. County Sheriff's Office at the Airport Courthouse in L.A. at 5:30 AM Friday, along with a bail bondsman. Dr. Murray would be booked, post bail and then walk into court without handcuffs or chains.

We're told the LAPD so vehemently objected to the plan ... the D.A. finally backed off. The LAPD wants to arrest Dr. Murray, book him and bring him into court in handcuffs and/or chains -- something that is fairly standard in homicide cases.

The plan has fallen apart and we're told ... as of now ... there will be no arraignment tomorrow.

It's starting out shaky, folks.

92. I feel so sorry for this Dr. Yes, what he did was wrong, but he is bein put out to the wolves and being dissected before even getting charged. MJ was a drug addict. Conrad Murray is simply the goat that got herded , yes ..he needs consequences, but MJ's time was up, could have been any other Dr. lookin to make a quick buck by takin him on.
Conrad will get off cause sooooooo many others did. He is just the picture to satisfy all the needy who continue to exploit MJ. Sad. I feel for him.

Dont think so. I would have some sympathy for this doctor if he did what he was supposed to do and wasn't negligent and careless in what he did. But he was very careless and negligent. You don't put someone under and walk out of the room. That is just wrong.

#9 I agree with you very well put...Tom Sneedon's classmates for sure..They were out to destroy Michael Jackson for years along with the FBI and the whole bunch of political frauds...Hard for them to prosecute Murray since they themselves were out to get Michael...What a mess. Pray for truth and justice for Michael.

Why is the DA so accommodating to a killer? Why no perp walk?

Is DA Pat Dixon prosecuting this case?

They were in it for the money

In the life of an attonrey, this is called playing chess.
I keep hearing only the word Manslaughter now and not involuntary. Could this be the reason all this has stalled? One is more serious than the other.

I bet he turns himself in to la tonight so as not to entice a riot on superbowl weekend.

Look at all the WJ spermette cheerleaders on TMZ. WJ rahrahrah!

One of two things will happen.

He will be acquitted, OR

He will be found guilty and sentencing will include nothing but probations since it was a first offense.

CA is currently letting many prisoners out early. Thanks, Arnie. One guy just released attempted raping a woman 12 hours after release. These releases are not the releases that judges are ordering released. That's going to be another large group of inmates walking the streets. California doesn't have the funds to house the inmates they have, so what makes you think they have the money to house Murray.

Murray will walk. As he should. I'd bet my last dollar on it.

And as far as Jacko's family filing a civil suit...ya can't get blood from a turnip.

Murray should not only be arrested for his involvement of the death of MJ, but at the minimum be handcuffed and/or chained. Afterall his case is the death of another! His actions were reckless behavior to say the least. I hope they hang him up by his b**ls. Kudos to the LAPD.

The Boo

Looks like, according to Murray's lawyer, the surrender is a go on Friday as scheduled...

Law enforcement sources tell CNN that plans for Murray to turn himself in on Friday have been nixed, but "The Insider" reached still out to the doctor's legal team, and a rep for Murray's lawyer had this to say: "We had an agreement with Deputy District Attorney David Walgren and we will adhere to it. We are planning to surrender Murray tomorrow and attend the 1:30 arraignment. If they changed their minds, that's on them."

Murray will in fact be booked and mug shot tomorrow, but is it at 5:am or will be at 2:45 am. That much is truly for certain. Arraignment is another thing.
Maybe everyone is going to LA. for the game; to sit on the 50 YD line. thats it.

MissingMJ

This is insane!!!!!!!! From day one this whole "investigation" has not made a lick of sense!!

Let's see

MJ dies

the doctor (who is a CARDIOLOGIST) gives CPR on a bed

the ambulance leaving MJ's home didn't look to be in a hurry (later it was said the EMTs were ordered to keep working on MJ even though they wanted to pronounce him dead at the house)Heck some think they even stopped and put a wig on him.

It was said the emts actually believed MJ had been dead for hours

The doctor did not tell the hospital personnel what he had given MJ and let them work blindly

The same doctor refused to sign the death certificate and then left the hospital and the state

The Police didn't question that doctor or try to find him right away

People were allowed into MJ's home the night of his death

All staff were let go that same day and asked to leave

Remember the big uproar about the ambulance picture? people were commenting on MJ's color and it was said that he looked like that because his blood had settled (I always thought you turned whiter not darker when your blood settles)

We were told it took a long time before 911 was called now they are claiming it only took like 20 minutes

It took a while before the doctor's home and office was searched. Also a lot of time passed in between those searches

The media talking like MJ was a whacked out drug addict yet the only drugs in his system were the ones the doctor gave him.

We hear The DA is negotiating a surrender, possible plea bargain, and a suggested bail all before any charges have been filed.

Then the whole, Oh, the DA can't get along with the LAPD long enough to get this man in jail and still there has been no formal charges filed!

I'm sure I'm forgetting more crazy stuff that happened in this "investigation"
Oh, God please I pray this is fake and that our justice system isn't really that F-ed up!

Darwin

Get real people.
The D.A. has allways wanted M.J.
So they are going to be lenient on the Dr.
The police allways got overtime for work, controling traffic and crowds for M.J.
So they are mad at the Dr.
