Hugh Hefner Accused of Screwing Playboy

2/8/2010 9:50 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Hugh HefnerHugh Hefner has been sued for living the good life and refusing to give it up for the sake of his company.

We've obtained a class action lawsuit filed by a Playboy shareholder who claims the company is falling apart and Hugh has intentionally sabotaged two potential deals in the last 6 months to sell the company at a decent price.

In the lawsuit, an investment company that analyzed Playboy's business sent a note stating "we think the wildcard here is Hugh Hefner." The note continues, "If you were Hugh Hefner, 81, would you give up the parade of busty blonds, the fancy mansion and the reality TV show for a payout?"

The suit goes on ... "Hefner has continued to live the good life and make sure everyone knows it. Hefner remains in the limelight, showing up at media events and at the Playboy mansion ... with his girlfriends by his side."

The suit laments, "Today, the price of a Playboy magazine is far higher than the price of Playboy common stock." In 1999, the stock sold for $36 a share. Today Playboy closed at $3.14. The magazine sells for $5.99 ... because of the articles.

The plaintiffs say Hefner runs roughshod over the shareholders and they want unspecified damages.

so long as Heff owns majority stock, then there is not a dam thing anyone can do to him or his company.

However if he does not hold majority shares, he is at the whims of the collective share holders.

What the hell kind of world do we live in when someone would sue a class act like Hugh Heffner?

Hey, that's the stock market. Buyer beware.......

I bet the only thing even remotely associated with Playboy that is making money is the reality show and that Hef cut the company out of it. He may be an old c**k, but he's a smart one!

Heff lived a good life. i think its time for him to settle down and take it easy OHHH and plz get rid of those twins. they are so immature , 2 young and annoying. someone on here said people are jealous because hes with 18 yr olds . the person who said that is sick !! real sick. it has nothing to do with jealousy. but other then that i do like Heff and he had a very interesting life . like someone else said on here hes fading away .

The shareholders are right. Hef's dragging the company down so he can continue to score 25 year olds. The shareholders will win this one. Who wants to buy stock to lose money? No one. If Hef wanted his life, he should do it on his own dime.

Hefner made millions convincing men that they could have his lifestyle if they made enough money. He had to take his company public to make his millions and keep his lifestyle, now it is costing him his millions and his lifestyle.

"Today, the price of a Playboy magazine is far higher than the price of Playboy common stock." In 1999, the stock sold for $36 a share. Today Playboy closed at $3.14"
- it's no wonder. If the challenge of new media competition wasn't enough, whoever is at the helm of this once-great company has destroyed their brand. With non-nude pictorials, like we've seen recently with Heidi Montag and others, I don't know what they stand for anymore or what I'd be buying with my $5.99. Are they the venerable Playboy Magazine that was an integral part of "coming of age" for any man over 35 (and who became loyal, long term customers) or simply another Maxim with worse distribution?

Playboy is Hef's toy, and he can run the buinsess into the ground, and come up smelling like a rose. If the investors don't have a majority share in the company, they got no case.

Shareholders have nobody to blame but themselves. Why would you still be holding shares of this company. I would of dumped them long time ago as soon as the internet got big. This company is done sell your shares now before its too late.
