OMG how horrible except for a few singers like pink, jennifer hudson and of course MJ and Janet... Wclef sounded horrible! He did sound like a goat...i hated the rap version and i couldnt stand the fact that lil wayne is there...he is about to go to jail...and they allow him to sing about we are the world and lets make it a better place when he isnt making it a better place...kanye west was horrible...
THIS SUCKS!!!! The original was soooo much better and i definitely think MJ wouldnt have approved of this!

Please bring back the old version, the one Michael would have wanted re-released for this very worthy cause. I will gladly give to Haiti but do not need a room full of rappers and gangsters to inspire me.

I LOVED IT! Justin B was JUST FINE and when Lil' Wayne hit that high note, Lil' Wayne who said he couldn't sing, that just really got it for me.
At first I was ?? the rap verses, but after watching it a couple times, I like that part too.
I think Lionel & Quincy did a GREAT job putting it together, melting all those great voices together in one GREAT SONG, and for charity/Haiti to boot!

Lost me at Justin Beiber. Final nail in the coffin was autotune. I thought they wanted people to donate? The people who cut the cheques aren't 11 year old girls or gangstas.

Come on, really? That much "talent" all together and that's the best that they can come up with? I didn't hear so much singing as I did yelling. I recently watched the original and was taken by how good they sounded together. You could tell that quite a bit of time was taken to make it cohesive. This? It was a mess on so many levels. Again, it's obvious that many of these "stars" are not very talented. What a shame!

The longer version is better than the shorter version televised last night.The shorter version looks amateurish,but the longer version still has the same problem when it is Janet Jackson's frames;you can see her but you cannot hear her singing along with Michael.
So many of these new faces--I wonder how long the careers of Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus will last?They are talented but do they have staying power?

40. I am a total bah-humbug here, but seriously?? They have had 2-3 weeks and 85 artists or whatever and the best they can do is re-sing a 25 year old song? Is there such a dearth of originality in the music industry (guess it's not just movies anymore) that NOBODY could write a new song in that amount of time? Michael Jackson reportedly scrapped the stuff he had previously been working on and wrote the original overnight!

I agree with others at least SOME effort was made by some of these people but really just whip out your checkbooks and donate. It's like they want a gold star on the forehead for getting together for a couple of hours to sing 1 song. Rob Thomas said they "left their egos at the door" (?!). Wow, how big of all of them. Half of them didn't deserve to be there. And to relegate Gladys Knight to the chorus is criminal.

You don't need talent anymore as evidenced by reality TV being the number 1 thing on television.
