I am replying to #38 that said I was coming down too harshly on people. I have a life. That is why I kiss my HUSBAND instead of my DOG!!! If you feel you NEED to have the dog lick your mouth, then you need professional help.

A dogs mouth will usually contain less bacteria then a humans, this is due to the fact that there are agents in a dog's salvia that fight bacteria. Many of the bacteria in a dog's mouth that might cause disease in a dog will not cause it in a human, and vice versa. However a dog is much more likely to come into contact with especially dangerous bacteria coming from sources like decomposing animals, trash, fecal matter etc. So while a dog's mouth might be cleanier in the sense there are less bacteria, the bacteria that are present might still be very dangerous.

It is funny how people think that kissing a dog is gross. Doesn't anyone realize that the mouth of your beloved (any human being for that matter) is dirtier than a dog's? We have more bacteria in our mouths than animals do - just look up the consequences of human bites. Personally, there is nothing wrong with kissing an animal - although I would prefer not to be kissed on the lips by any sort of furry animal. I think the picture is adorable though - just goes to show just how 'real' of a person she is. None of that bogus Diva crap!
