Whitney Houston -- A Hot Mess in Australia

2/24/2010 8:00 PM PST BY TMZ STAFF

In a performance that can only be described as rocky at best, a sweat-drenched Whitney Houston attempted to sing her hit "I Will Always Love You" during a concert Monday night in Australia.

Whitney Houston

Whitney's weirdness reaches its peak right before she's supposed to hit the high note -- when she suddenly turns around, walks over to a table behind her, and then spends an excessive amount of time gearing up for the big finish.

When Whitney finally gets ready, she comes back to the mic and belts out the chorus to the song ... and let's just say she gets an E for Effort.

I would have been pissed if I had paid to go to that show.
That 1 minute break (snort snort snort) seemed to wake her up at least.

I think her performance says it all. It's time Ms Houston backs away from the mic. She can't go back to the way she was years ago. Too many drugs, too much damage.

She's finished. Done. Another pathetic old performer robbing the public of they're hard earned money. They should run her off every stage she try to take.

Sad to see her this way, she is just performing to keep up her drug hsabits. Wish her the best and God Bless her and kids, it's obvious what she took as she turned away!

I just hope she gets help or someone intervines here, she is in need of it! Don't want to see her like MJ & ELVIS. Fame is beautiful until they let it eat them up.

OK. I'm sorry but whitney and The Who really need to face the reality that their voices are burned out may be for good. :(

Sad....no stage performer stops in the middle of a song like that and takes a "break."

From a local newspaper in Sydney....

WHITNEY Houston got off to such a great start at her Acer Arena concert last night.
After the savaging she copped after her opening Australian show in Brisbane on Monday night, the Sydney crowd were undoubtedly on her side and for the first 50 minutes, both performer and the 12,000 strong crowd seemed to be having a great time.

But when Houston returned to the stage after a 13-minute costume change it all went downhill.

Her acoustic set of old favourites unfortunately could not hide the very obvious problems with her voice, the strain and those coughs that punctuated the Brisbane show were back.

By the time she got to the gospel section of the show a steady stream of disappointed, saddened and angry fans started streaming out the doors.

"Some of it's been beautiful and some it is just horrible," Shane Norquay said.

Maybe it's time to retire?

I will always love you. All lies! If she loved us, she would stop singing that song.

HaHa!!!

It is sad when God blesses someone with everything and they just throw it all away. I knew when I saw her on Oprah that she wasn't going to hold it together because her CD wasn't all that great.
