Charlie Sheen's Ex: He Pushed, Threatened to Kill

2/28/2010 11:55 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Charlie Sheens ex Denise RichardsThe D.A. in Aspen may call Charlie Sheen's ex-wife, Denise Richards, to testify about an alleged incident that is eerily similar to the allegations of his current wife, Brooke Mueller.

We're told the Pitkin County D.A. has had law enforcement in L.A. County contact Richard's agent and lawyer, about Denise possibly testifying in Charlie Sheen's criminal case in Aspen. Specifically, sources tell us the D.A. is interested in a declaration Denise signed under penalty of perjury in 2005, when she got a restraining order against the "Two and a Half Men" star.

Richards claimed on December 30, 2005, in the middle of an argument, she was holding their daughter Lola, when Charlie "pushed me, shoving me with his two hands between my shoulders. I was forced backwards and tripped over one of the children's toys and fell on the floor with Lola."

According to the declaration, Charlie then pointed his finger at her and screamed, "I hope you f--king die, bitch." Richards says as Charlie was walking out the front door he said "he was going to have me killed. He said you are f--king with the wrong guy."

Charlie Sheen denied the allegations at the time.

We're told Richards will cooperate, but only if she's forced to do so by subpoena.

Wow...that didn't take this POS very long now did it. She is an attention whore who actually has no real talent of her own.

The only sympathy I have are for these precious babies, they two bone-head skanks knew exactly what they were getting when the married Charlie, and yet they still married him. They think they are going to be the one the change him and look what happened? Brooke is just as bad as Charlie, they are both at fault with the fight on Christmas, she probably pushed Charlie to the limit and just lost it, not that I am condoning pulling a knife, but I hope is defense really take a good look and this BIMBO'S statement before they convict Charlie.
As for Denise, screw her also, get a job you money grubbing attention seeking tramp. You my dear are no role model for your little girls. I thought your show on E! was so pathetic and glad that is was canceled.

I don't think there's a contradiction between Denise's 2005 statement and what she is saying now. The wording in the statement is a bit confusing when trying to visualize it, but that's not uncommon in these things and some other posters have provided rational descriptions of how it probably happened. Anyway -- she says he shoved her (and the shoving incident described indicated extremely poor judgment on his part, it was much more dangerous than probably intended, there is no call for that no matter how many buttons she pushed) but didn't beat her up with fists or hit her with anything else, didn't kick her, etc. (which is what she means by not getting physical).

She does say that he was "mentally" abusive, meaning he was verbally abusive and threatening, which is a very good reason to get away from a guy... But it would be helpful to know if he was a problem only when under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or if he was just as much of a problem when sober. He's cleaned up a lot since, although obviously not enough (he shouldn't have had a drop of alcohol in his blood Christmas Day, considering his history).

More interesting is that Denise says he never did anything to her that Brooke describes (the knife incident). Abusive men tend to repeat the same patterns endlessly, and it sounds as though this just isn't his pattern. Shoving at least once, yes. Abusive language, yes. Threatening language, yes. Knife to the throat - not while he was with Denise.

The open knife in the bag/whatever doesn't mean anything without knowing how he usually used that knife and who else had access to it (both him and Brooke, obviously, but who else might have wanted to boost up the evidence for the cops?). He was essentially sober by the time the police arrived, why wouldn't he have at least closed the knife if it was important?

So we're still basically at the "who knows what really happened stage" here.
