Corey Haim Found Dead

3/10/2010 10:08 AM PST BY TMZ STAFF

Corey HaimActor Corey Haim died this morning of an apparent overdose -- possibly accidental -- according to LAPD. He was 38.

Police tell us they were called to St. Joseph's hospital in Burbank, CA shortly before 4 AM PT to investigate.

Haim shot to fame in the 80s -- when he co-starred in a number of films, including "The Lost Boys" with Corey Feldman.

Haim reportedly suffered a drug-induced stroke in 2001 and was rushed to UCLA Medical Center.

Haim also reportedly was in and out of rehab 15 times, but cleaned up in 2004 after moving to Toronto.

My bedroom was filled with posters and pictures of Corey Haim throughout the 80's and early 90's and he was the one celebrity I always wanted to meet. Anytime someone asked which celebrity/actor would you most want to meet or talk to, it was Corey Haim. I even named my first dog after him. I admired his work and of course, his looks. I never stopped being a fan and I followed his career through all the ups and downs and never stopped following him. I knew one day this time would come and I've been dreading it. I wish I had the chance to have met him, but hope I get to meet up with him in Heaven one day.
My sincere condolences go out to his family, friends and anyone in the world who is mourning his loss.
Corey Haim will be missed, but never forgotten. His work will live on...
I will miss you terribly, Corey.

So sad. RIP Cory. He was my first crush. My family goes out to him and his family, and lets not forget poor Corey Feldman. He must now go on without his wingman... My prayers are with all of you. God Bless.

I am not surprised that Corey Haim died of a drug overdose. He was talented and handsome but his life was tragic. He was sexually abused when he was a child and that pain never went away from his heart. He found drugs to relieve his pain.He should have listened to the people around him who wanted to help his best friend Corey Feldman. Now I wish for his spirit to find happiness at last.

It's sad when you really think about it I mean yeah he had a problem who doesn't though. I'm looking at this as there goes a piece of my childhood, I grew up in the 80's & the Corey's were a very big part of that I loved watching there movies. With so many of those that we watch while we were young coming to an end now it's sad to realize those days are gone, the people we admired or crushed on are now gone. Gettting older just isn't fair.

Oh, Corey... I was so glad to see you out and about, looking like you were working your life out. After all you fought through... it was the flu and self medicating your insomnia that brought you down for good... I stopped thinking you'd go out like this, Bro. You were the Haimster! Unstoppable! :.( Bro, you will be so missed!

Anna Nicole Smith, Michael Jackson, Brittany Murphy, Corey Haim, and countless others... sick and using prescription drugs to get better, but instead they all killed themselves with the doctor's drugs. Completely tragic!

Ahhhh Corey Man! Maybe now you will finally be a peace, instead of being the scoffed at and ridiculed; made to look like the constant foil of an undynamic duo. The pain you carried, we will never know the depth for sure. One thing is for certain, everyone in Hollywood who shunned you, should hang their head in shame. Underestimated in talent and intelligence. You took it on the chin for many in the industry who still struggle with their addictions in secret. May the wind always be at your back, and God hold you in the palm of His Hand. Doug Cosgro

"R.I.P."? Gimme a break, TMZ. Two weeks ago you were berating Cory Feldman and Corey Haim as losers and irrelevancies (it looked like your cameraman caught both of them in a back ally, and your interviewer didn't even recognize Haim). It was funny, yes. But for you to post "R.I.P."? Please. TMZ gets the Academy Award for false empathy.

This isn't sad, this is just. What do people expect when they decide to start doing drugs? No one forced it on him, it was a choice. Choosing drugs is equivalent to choosing death. I feel sad for his family, but only slightly. I'm sure they just enabled him. Report something else TMZ!
