Michael Jackson Bodyguard Fired

3/29/2010 1:50 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Alberto AlvarezTMZ has learned the bodyguard who says Dr. Conrad Murray asked him to help hide Propofol in Michael Jackson's house the day he died was fired from his job Friday by the Jackson family.

Alvarez had been working at the Jackson family compound in Encino since the singer died last June.

Alberto Alvarez is the bodyguard who called 911 from Jackson's house. Last week it was reported that Alvarez told LAPD detectives ... that before paramedics arrived on scene Dr. Murray asked him to put bottles of Propofol in a bag.

Alvarez -- who is sometimes referred to as Jackson's "logistics director" -- did not tell detectives about the alleged cover-up the day Jackson died, but rather two months later. The story about the alleged cover-up broke last Monday.

As for why Alvarez was fired, the Jackson family isn't talking.

Yes I read that too but I'm talking about after that tour in the years when he wasn't touring like the last 5 to 10 years. Do you think this anesthesiologist was the one who was supplying MJ and if so why wouldn't he go on the TII tour like he did the dangerous tour? I would think that if he was supplying MJ in those years that MJ would want him to tour with him on TII.

==========
It was reported on Entertainment Tonight that MJ had an anestesiologist(sp) with him during his Dangerous Tour. They even showed footage of the reporter talking to the Doctor at his house. Of course, he clammed up and wouldn't say much.

Also I'll mention this again. I don't know if there is any truth to it, but on CNN they are reporting on the crawl at the bottom of the screen that MJ had a heartbeat when he arrived at the hospital on June 25th.

If Alvarez kept that information from the family, that would be reason alone to terminate his services. I am not saying that is the case; I do not know. But the firing coming so soon after this made the news seems to point to a causal connection. If he assisted Murray in disturbing the death scene, he may have been afraid to tell anyone out of fear of being charged with a crime himself. I think this guy is a naif. Listen to his voice on the 911 call. He sounds like someone who would take orders from someone in authority, without questioning. My impression is that he's a nice guy, and was loyal to MJ. He was not one of three bodyguards who appeared on TV recently.

Well I am assuming they were smart enough to remove the wig or wig pieces to run the test on the hair since drugs were suspected in his death. This whole drug addict deal isn't setting well with me. At least not yet anyway.

=================
do tell Barb. the autopsy would have showed that in the test, providing they removed the wig
...

that second part of your question rocks! i have no clue. maybe one of these lifers of TMZ has the answer.

I can understand why they fired him. His first duty was to MJ not the Doctor. He helped the Doctor hide evidence and then only came clean 2 months later. Had he been immediately forthcoming about the Doctors actions the Doctor would be in a lot more hot water right now. As it stands the defense Lawyers will use the changed testimony to cast doubt in the mind of the jurors.

Gone too soon

Alvarez was hired by Thome Thome.

Most of Michael´s bodyguards were from the mob.

Michael owed the mob quite a lot of money.

Do the maths.

108. May be he was fired because of economic reason. The household needs to be downsized. Too many people on the payroll. It costs $$$$$.

I don't believe that, Daphne. They have been employing that guy for almost nine months, and then, shortly after him talking to the LAPD, they discover an urgent need to save his salary? Too much of a coinicidence, I would assume.

Maybe it was just too much for the family to figure out that Alvarez preferred to help Murray covering up the Propofol instead of immediately and self dependantly calling 911. Nearly the same time when Alvarez reported to the LAPD the story about Michael's heart beating at the hospital was broken. Who knows, an earlier 911-call might have saved Michael's life, and the family can't get over that.

104 @ Grovnik....most sensible comment here. Alberto and two others were on the spot witnesses that day, but the cops only interviewed them for a minute or two; then the cops didn't turn up for the next set interview and finally managed to do interviews two months later but only at the insistence of Alberto's lawyer, that he wanted to give evidence!!
They also failed to secure the Carolwood house which meant evidence was contaminated. How could Alberto have told them everything in a minute or two???
Blame LAPD and DA and nobody else. They're either totally incompetent or there's a major cover up going on here and Murray will walk.
I think Alberto was hired only recently by the Jacksons to protect Michael's three children. Why they've fired him is anyone's guess, but I too thought he was a loyal employee who kept Michael's back covered.

Whatever Alvarez did, he did for Michael. We don´t know what happened in the house on the 24th July and I am not even sure about the Jackson´s part in it all....
