Donovan McNabb

Silver and Blacklists Himself

3/31/2010 6:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback (for the moment) Donovan McNabb could be on his way out of town -- but TMZ has learned there's one place he's refusing to go ... Oakland.

Donovan McNabb

There have been multiple reports that the Oakland Raiders are the front-runners to acquire the Pro Bowl QB through a blockbuster trade -- but a source close to McNabb tells TMZ, "He does NOT want to play for the Raiders and would refuse the trade."

McNabb reportedly does not have a no-trade clause in his contract -- but according to Philly.com, he can refuse to negotiate a contract extension ... and most teams wouldn't trade away draft picks or players to get Donovan for the one measly year he has remaining on his current contract.

We're hearing McNabb could still end up in The Bay area ... playing for the team across the way ... The San Francisco 49ers.

Man, this is a business. His ass can't deny a trade and would not talk negative where ever he lands. He understands the business. He is a professional. Expect Al Davis to talk with him, explain to him what he will mean for the organization for 2 years (mentor russell) and he will be free to go to wherever. I guarantee it.

Welcome to the Nation Mcnabb!

Been a 49ers fan through all the tough years, and it would be a real pleasure to have McNabb on the team. Then maybe I would stand a chance in my football pool for once!

That's a real fan, putting down the 9ers to win when they've sucked the soul out of football for almost 2 decades :) Still love em though.

Who would want to go to the ARMPIT of the NFL? Its the black hole alright, where players careers go to die. For those who have posted DMcnabb is over-rated, um yeah you obviously havent been watching football, he took the sheagles to 5 nfc championship games, 4 of which were in a row. You dont do that by being an over-rated qb. By the way I hate the sheagles, so im not a homer by any stretch of the imagination, but to not give Mcnabb the props he deserves is plain retarted!!!!

As for McNabb as a 49er, well, as a fan our QB Alex Smith is improving, and McNabb is aging. As much as Montana did for the team the team moved him on as he got older. I would not trade for a QB his age, we don't need a player with 2 years of playing time left. McNabb couldn't take the 49er's to S.B. in two years, so I would rather struggle now and build for the future.

Come on McNabb....I've always been a S.F. fan and would love to see McNabb as our new quarterback! I'm ready for our 6th Superbowl win!!!

McNabb is over rated...he has gone to the playoff how many times? The Championship game how many times? Yet, he has failed to win the SB... just like Marino ~ your a great one that never won the big game. As old Al Davis use to say...'just win baby.' Winning the S.B. takes your QB status to the next level. Joe Montana wasn't a great QB satistically but he could win the big game. Montana was a great TEAM player...

Mcnabb is a great starting quarterback and always has been he is just getting a little older and mike vick and kevin kolb are getting restless because they want to be a starter. nobody wants to be a back up.

Some of you obviously know nothing about football...and frankly your hate for McNabb as if he's some kind of monster is sickening. McNabb is quite honestly the most under appreciated QB in the NFL..and Philly fans must think a Super Bowl championship is a walk in the park. Many teams struggle to make it to the playoffs and yet look what he's done for the team? At times with nothing..it's amazing

First, if the Raiders did trade for him they could do it without an extension. After McNabb played out the year in 2010 the Raiders could Franchise Tag him for 2011. A lot can happen during those 2 years as far as someone signing a contract.

As a Raider Fan I do hope that the Raiders do not trade for him. Being 5-11 or 10-6 during the regular season does nothing for me. The Raiders need to find a QB that can win not only during the regular season but in the post season.

McNabb is much like the Chargers. They do well during the regular season but fold like a deck of cards in any big game where the pressure is on and the money is on the line. He just seems to fail to do well when the pressure is on.

He should finish up in Philly

As a Raider fan, I don't blame him but I really wish he'd come to Oakland and we could dump Jamarcus!!!!

McNabb should agree with the LA Raiders deal and my feelinga are that the former USC star Matt Leinhart should have willingly elected to join the raiders team as well! In the past stars like Stabler would feel that a lefty might be a starter for the Raiders Club!

McNabb could grabb at an opportunity that would be a benefit to him and his when otherwise he might not have the ability or time to swindle one in Los Angeles!
