Conrad Murray

Agrees to Propofol Ban

4/9/2010 4:15 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Propofol BanThe Texas Medical Board
has officially prohibited Dr. Conrad Murray from administering Propofol or other heavy sedatives, TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story that Dr. Murray agreed to the restriction, which mirrors one of the conditions to Dr. Murray's bail in connection with the death of Michael Jackson.

Aside from administering Propofol, Dr. Murray is banned from administering other heavy sedative medications and can't put patients under. He is still able to prescribe other medications, including pain meds, anti-anxiety medication or local or topical anesthetics.

According to a rep for the Texas Medical Board, the license restrictions will remain in effect until the criminal case is resolved and "the Board has adequate evidence to show that Dr. Murray is competent to safely practice medicine."

Just as long as WACKO JACKO is still decompossing somewhere I'm happy. Dr. Murray you made a little mistake, but you got rid of a child molester so, no harm done.

Unfortunately, his life is ruined by taking on the job to help the big drug-addict Michael Jackson. MJ would have gotten the drug from anywhere as he had done long before Dr. Murray was hired or came on the scene. I rented the MJ "This is It" Movie and had to watch most of it in 4 tries. He was stick-thin like a ballerina, weak looking, and it was just sad and hard to watch him become this knifed-up, sad drug-addict that needed to be jacked or or wired by Ephedrine, high dosage of caffeine, and weightloss meds by day and then something as powerful as Propofol, anti-depressant, Ambien, and such to bring him down so that he could sleep by night. This is sad all around. I do not believe the doctor is a murderer. I think he was caught up in treating a celebrity drug-addict and allowed himself to pulled into an unethical situation. This would have happened to MJ regardless of the doctor at the helm. Unfortunately, it was Dr. Murray. I do not believe he meant to kill MJ or destroy his career. He would have taken the easy way out already, if he felt like he wanted to destroy his career. Janet said it best during a recent Oprah interview-- "Everyone knew that MJ had a problem with drugs!" "and he was in denial!!" MJ was messed up in more ways than we can count and he managed to pull everyone else, including Dr. Murray, into his sick, sad life which ended in a disaster for both.

Honestly, this should apply to all non-ACGME residency trained anesthesiologists or CRNAs. I think that licensing boards need to crack down more on physicians with no training (or perhaps a weekend couse) going beyond the scope of their training. It's not like the old days... where residencies and fellowships were rare...and your local family practice doc was a jack-of-all trades.

I can NOT believe that this guy who is guilty as hell for doing this to Michael, is kinda' running the show!

What the hell is going on? Everything is half assed backwards.

I really think the end of the world must be coming. There is really no other expanation for the backward, viscious, lying, decietful ways of the world.

This man does NOT deserve bail and he does NOT deserve to be telling anyone what he will agree with. He needs to be charged with second degree murder, he needs to be locked up while waiting trial and NOT taking care of patients.
