The company that donated money to help pay for Corey Haim's funeral stopped payment on the check it sent the family ... claiming the money wasn't being used for Haim's funeral at all.
Startifacts, a celebrity memorabilia company that had been auctioning some of Haim's stuff, had donated $20,000 to cover funeral expenses.
But after a series of back and forth emails with Haim's brother-in-law, Mark Alexander, the company learned the funeral had already been paid for by the funeral home -- and its money was going to be used for Corey's mom's cancer treatments.
A rep for Judy Haim, Corey's mom, tells TMZ Judy's medical bills are completely covered and she has no idea why Alexander gave Starifacts the wrong idea. Haim says the funeral costs were indeed all covered by the funeral home's donations fund -- and she was raising money to reimburse them.
Either way, Startifacts feels burned by the whole ordeal and, as of now, has no intention of sending another check.

Startifacts had NO intentions of following through with their offer. They wanted the PRESS, but as soon as it stopped mentioning their name, they stopped the check.
These dealers are not going to just hand over 10-20k. It was just a joke for them.
Ouchies... someone is always trying to make a buck... if the funeral home had payed for it... why didn't she return the check anyway or decline the offer? I know she is sick and all... but Ugh!

This is what happens when families beg for money so they don't have to pay for funeral expenses - someone usually gets burned and it's not the "poor me" family.
In Canada you don't pay out of your own pocket for cancer treatments or any other medical expenses so they are pretty much lying. The funeral home he was laid to rest by is a well off one so I can see that as well. It's pretty low to take advantage of the family.
If they are so poor - then why did they spend so much on funerals ?
So they are keeping the 20K AND keeping Corey's belongings and profit from the items they sold that belong to his mother?
Sounds like the only thing this place did was step in to take advantage of Corey's mom and make a profit.
Even in DEATH Corey Haim gets the short end of the stick. People are so hard hearted. Sheesh. I realize he had drug problems galore, but come on...he DIED.
you are all idiots. Canada has free healthcare, there are no treatments to pay for here at all so Judy isn't using the money for treatments. Here you pay the funeral home first and then you get your reinbursements after (like life insurance policies, etc.) , so anything that Judy got should go to her because she had to pay the funeral home first.
