Nas Ordered to Pay Kelis Big Bucks

4/12/2010 7:20 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0617_nas_kelis_credit_tmz_ex2.jpgNas went to court Monday over his divorce with Kelis -- and walked out a little lighter in the wallet.

According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Nas had to immediately fork over $47,249.42 in back child support and $40,454 in back spousal support.

The judge also ordered Nas to pay $10,000/month in spousal support until he pays off the $299,015.50 he owes Kelis.

Nas also has to pay 90% of Kelis' legal fees in the amount of $155,787.28.

Lastly, Nas has to pay $48,549.83 to cover Kelis' accounting expenses.

The lesson, as always -- when Laura Wasser reps your ex, settle as quickly as possible. Nas just learned that the hard way.

Ridiculous. The emphasis in this case should be a fair custody situation as opposed to attempting to ruin one parent for a failed marriage. From my understanding he isn't even getting to see his child & his lawyer was fighting for him to get visits with his own baby. Thats insane and really sad.

I guess the lesson is either don't get married or marry someone who makes an equivalent amount of money or legal gold digging may occur. And for the people who "think" they know what happened based on media stories are hilarious...but regardless of what happened raping someone's pockets for their hard earned money & trying to send them back to the nothingness that their talent & success allowed them to leave behind is not fair. So what is the punishment for a poor person failing at marriage? Money is the root of all evil & the mentality of this country to "make 'em pay" or "take 'em to the cleaners" is at the forefront of our lack of family structure & ridiculous divorce statistics. Congratulations America. Why work it out when you can just trade them in for money and use your child as a weapon...way to go!

Woman scream equal rights but never want to live up to the ****. she can work just like he can so why does the court has the authority to destroy someone life like that. I dont think it is right and I think a fight is about to come of it. O yeah, I am a woman.

Actually this isn't all that surprising when you factor in the fact that Kelis has zero talent and her "career" is - and has been - in the toilet (where all excrement belongs) so sure she needs money.

Nas got the shaft but I'm sure he can afford it. Also, as I'm sure that Nas is well aware of, it's always best to step over dog excrement and move on then deal with it as you always get some on you.

And besides, with Nas' talent, his next album alone will guarantee those $10k a month (hey, crack is expensive) payments - just set up an automatic deposit and just forget all about this evil street-walking, crack-addicted skank AKA Kelis.

Keep the faith, Nas. Karma is a bitch and it ALWAYS comes back to those who mess with it and Kelis WILL feel the wrath of that Karma and deservedly so.
