'American Chopper' Son -- Out to Destroy Dad

4/15/2010 1:55 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

The oldest son from "American Chopper" has escalated the war against his father by opening up a rival motorcycle business -- and he's making the whole thing incredibly personal.

TMZ has learned Paul Teutul Jr. is starting a competing shop to go head-to-head with his dad's Orange County Choppers shop.

But here's the catch -- Junior has recruited a bunch of disgruntled employees who left his dad's place ... including his brother Mikey Teutul and friends Vinnie DiMartino, Robert "Nub" Collard and Joe Puliafico.

We're told Senior has no idea about the mutiny ... that is, until now.

What Da

Talk about good timing. I thought something was funny when out of the blue. American Chopper was coming back on TV.......Should be very cool to see a new bike company start up and grow. Im actually interested. Atleadt Mikely will have some money coming. He was looking very depressed. I wouldnt know anyone who would hire such a old fat guy that has no marketable skills....He is perfect for TV.

How is it he brought Vinnie back to start this business? Vinnie already has a business with Cody and they are going to be on their own series.
Sad state of affairs. Both father and son are acting like a couple of kids. Grow up!

It is the natural order of things for the next generation to strike out on it's own... However, there is no need to be beligerent about it... In the end they are still family and that relationship should not be severed on the basis of being prideful...

Dad was a butt-hole anyway. If you ask me, OCC choppers weren't all that, they were just lucky. There are many more bike shops ouy there that make way better bikes, they just didn't get picked to do a "reality show". Same goes fot the entertainment industry. For every successful artist, there are hundreds more with more talent in their little finger, just haven't had a break or a mom and that will pay their way.

Uh welcome to 3 months ago. Jr has been building bikes on his own for a bit.

The old man was in the metal railing business. Jr came up with & fabricated all those bikes, while his father constantly broke his balls. There's an older brother who bought the railing business & wont have anything to do with the father. 3 of his sons & ex employees that left cant all be wrong

to bad the market for custom bikes will be going down not a good time to open a competing business. Jr. should stick to his idea of the corporate partnerships will be better on the long run
