Sandra Bullock's Biggest Adoption Hint

4/30/2010 4:45 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Sandra Bullock dropped a big adoption hint when she bought her New Orleans home in June 2009 -- but no one noticed.

Sandra formed a corporation on June 5, 2009 that purchased the $2.25 million Victorian home a few days later.  The name of the corp -- Big Easy Bebe LLC.  It's an educated guess, but we're thinkin' "Bebe" is slang for baby.  We doubt she named the corporation after a clothing store.

Sandra says the process of adopting bebe Louis took four years  ... so when she bought the house she was nearing the finish line.

It doesn't take 4 years to adopt a baby boorn in the US. I did it in 1 year. Newborn, baby boy; African-American like Louis. It's a lot of paperwork and hassle, but it's doable in a shorter period of time.

Terms of her adoption may have included some level of openness or contact with the birth mother, hence the move to New Orleans. There may have been a privacy contract that would have scared off some birth moms, so that could be why it took longer than usual. Because she adopted from LA she may also be required to be a resident there, as adoptions are usually handled within each individual state.

Congratulations to Sandra and Louis! I just wanted to comment about the "why does it take 4 years to adopt a domestic baby" comments. It can take years and years to successfully adopt in this country. My husband and I have been tryong for 6 years an finally were blessed with a little boy last year. It's a sad state of affairs with all of the kids who need help. Just a pet peeve of mine....

Yes bebe is French for baby..that is the origination of the word..clearly. However if you have ever been around anybody from New Orleans, you would know that "bebe" has become a part of common slang. Men and women alike address each other as "bebe". And when they do it, it does not mean "baby" in the literal sense, it does not mean "baby" the way lovers may use has a much more general use..and since the word is not interpreted literally by most people in New Orleans who use has become a slang word.
