Bruce Willis Accused of $27,700 Rug Burn

5/7/2010 8:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

Bruce Willis in lawsuit over a $27,700 rugBruce Willis is accused of murdering a $27,700 rug -- and according to a lawsuit, his weapon of choice was red wine.

The alleged victim is a handmade wool and silk rug that Willis' interior designer selected from Mansour, a fine rug store in L.A.

According to a lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the rug people delivered the goods to Bruce's L.A. pad back in December in perfect condition. They even gave the actor a 10% discount -- but they made it clear, "All sales are final."

Fast forward nearly 6 weeks -- after Bruce had the rug altered a few inches -- the rug store claims Bruce suddenly wanted to return the rug ... even though he hadn't yet paid for it.

But when the rug people came to collect, according to the lawsuit, the rug had been stained by "spilled or dripped red wine."

According to the docs, Mansour claims Bruce's people claim they didn't cause the wine damage -- but the rug people claim the stains definitely didn't exist when they originally delivered it.

Now, Mansour claims they're stuck with a stained rug -- and they want Bruce and his people to pay for it ... full price!!

Bruce's lawyer, Marty Singer, tells TMZ his client never purchased the rug ... it was delivered to his home on consignment. And, Singer says, the rug wasn't damaged or dirty but Willis still offered to clean it. Singer calls the suit "ridiculous."

By rug burn I thought of the Human kind of rug burn.
Now that would have made an interesting read.
But know. What we get is another lane piece of crap from TMZ.

If you have a rug placed in your home on consignment you most certainly don't have it altered. The alteration is proof that Bruce was well aware that he was the owner of the rug. Bruce is just another douche-bag celebrity.

Geesh Bruce. All you have to do is donate the rug to Homes for Humanity, take the tax write-off and be done with it.....

If all sales are final how could it be there on consignment? Also, if he actually spilled the wine, homeowners insurance covers accidents such as this as well as stupidity. Willis handled it wrong.

You are kidding me!! He has millions and he's arguing over 27K? Just pay the money and be done with it. Why would you take something so petty to court? He obviously bought the rug because he had it altered. I think he's just trying to get out of paying for it. I hope the rug company wins and get's more money out of Bruce for the hassle they had to go through to get their money.

You think there might be a little markup on dat rug? I could probably find a simular rug on E-bay for $3,500.

He must have been expecting the complimentary use of the rug. Even with his wealth, he's not stupid enough to pay $28,000, for a dam rug.

Another Cheap you know what. He can't act like a man. Didn't rip some poor girls heart out when she simply asked him for an autograph. Worth megamillions and expects to not only alter a rug (dishonest) but refuses to pay AFTER he used it and kept it for 6 weeks. I read where another celebrity did that with clothes..who was she?? Cheap. They all expect us to pay to go to their bad movies and reap benefits of stardom by being cheap.

Get a rug lift Bruce!!
