Charlie Sheen's Jail Break

6/4/2010 10:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has learned Charlie Sheen may not be serving 30 days in jail ... only 30 nights.

Charlie Sheen Jail

An official in the Pitkin County jail tells us Charlie is eligible for work release  -- meaning he could do volunteer work in Aspen where he would spend his days, and come back to the jail to sleep at night.

We're told when Charlie goes to court on Monday to plea bargain his case, the judge can declare him eligible for work release.  Then it's up to the Sheriff to decide if Charlie meets the criteria for work release ... which includes working at a productive job in the community.  If the criteria is met, Charlie would get a daytime pass.

As we first reported, even though Charlie will plead no contest to 3rd degree misdemeanor assault and accept a 30-day sentence, he will only serve 17 days if he's a good boy and two of those days (the first and last) could be nothing more than a few minutes behind bars.

I used to work for that county. We had work release people come into our office and do mundane jobs a few times. He isn't being treated special... It happens all the time.

what a joke! No real consequences for Charlie! He is so very disgusting to me I can't stand to look at his face. As soon as I see his tv show come on after WWE I RUN to change it. He makes me sick.

Watch, he will hire someone to "hire" him for work release and he will be getting facials and massages every day instead of working. Then he slides back to the jail house, picks up on a woman in there, hits the sheets with her, falls asleep, wakes up the next day and starts it all over again. Think he'll mind working 7 days a week? Hell no, he's a hard working fella!

I have always liked Charlie Sheen, I think he is a great actor and always watch the show 2 and a half men. One thing I will not put up with is abuse to women of any kind !!! I have had that experience which is a terrible thing to live with. Also just necause he"s an actor, does he think he can get away with it? He must have a problem in himself, one he does not discuss with anyone. I feel for his wife also. I just hoe he can turn himself around, but usually when a man is like that he usually stays that way. I really think he will never change, whatever happens, whiuch is very sad.

Why shouldn"t Charlie Sheen serve a normal jail sentence like anyone else would. I believe he will keep hurting women anyway. Once they start, they don"t usually stop. Or if they do, it"s not for long until they do it again.

Wow, that picture of a cell looks nice. The jails I have been in all have stainless steel toilets and sinks, that one looks like a home bathroom.....how cool and comforting while you crap! I like Charlie and I like porn stars.
