Gary Coleman

Don't Pull the Plug on Me!

6/14/2010 5:30 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

TMZ has obtained legal documents signed by Gary Coleman in 2006 in which the actor specifically directed that he did not want anyone to pull the plug on him ... if he was ever in that situation.

Gary Coleman
The documents were ironically filed by Shannon Price -- Gary's ex-wife -- the person who authorized doctors to take Gary off life support last month. Price has filed the docs in an effort to be granted control over the disposition of Gary's body.

Among the documents filed today by Shannon is a health care power of attorney which Gary filled out in 2006.  Under the heading "Instructions for Health Care" -- Gary checked a box  titled "Choice to Prolong Life" which states, "I want my life to be prolonged as long as possible within the limits of generally accepted health care standards."

The other option Gary had -- "Choice Not to Prolong Life" -- was left unchecked.

In the docs, Shannon explains her decision to end Gary's life saying she was "forced" to pull the plug. She does not explain why she felt forced.

It does show complete negligence on behalf of the hospital and that his "so called" wife had zero regard for his life. Why have an Advance Directive/Medical Power of Attorney if it is not utilized. But......had it been filed with the local hospital where Gary resided? They are only good when the hospital has a copy of them. I previously took care of Gary at UCLA Medical Center. He was a very nice man. He had a lot on his plate at a very young age and I feel so very bad that his life ended in this horrible way. He deserved so much better. I really hope that law enforcement gets the "real" story and places blame where blame is due. Dialysis is very draining, especially for someone who has been on it as long as he had been. Some hand holding and supervision is needed following a lengthy treatment. Now, hopefully the judge will just see through the BS and award the right person his remains so he can at least be laid to rest. May you rest in peace Gary.

#c3310018 Your comment is one of the most reasonable one's I've read.

The facts are:

1.Gary divorced Shannon Price.
2.Gary placed a restraining order against Shannon Price.
3.Gary revoked all powers of attorney he'd given to Shannon Price.
4.Shannon has told the media different versions of how Gary died.
5.Shannon lied about being "married" to him on his death certificate.
6.Shannon violated the restraining order and stole from him after he died.
7.Shannon posed with a closed fist toward and over him while he was dying.

8.Shannon will write a book for the "morbidly curious". to get rich
"Will she come out for book signings," since so many people have written they believe she killed him or helped kill him?

9.I believe Shannon will face conviction from GOD even if Utah Police are too dumb or racists to care how Gary Coleman died.
Rest in Peace Gary Coleman and Thanks for the many laughs and moral stories you gave the world on "Different Strokes." One Love young man.

I hope that this Shannon person don't get one thing but some jail time. She didn't care about Gary. She was just waiting on him to die so she could get his money, and she probably "helped" him die. Not only did Gary not want to be taken off life support, as he specified, but he left his entire estate to a business associate (which he signed in 2005 and did not change it when he married Shannon.) I would rather see his business associate with his estate than her. She is a homely looking, conniving witch.
