Katherine Jackson: Michael's Kids Have No Friends

6/20/2010 3:46 PM PDT BY TMZ STAFF

0620_katherine_jackson_bookKatherine Jackson says Michael Jackson's kids are isolated and miss their father desperately ... this according to her first interview since MJ's death.

Katherine tells the Daily Mirror, "They don't have any friends. They don't go to school, they have private lessons at home -- but that will change in September, when they are due to enroll at private college."

According to the interview, the kids spend hours listening to their dad's music.

She says Paris has turned her bedroom into a shrine to her "Daddy" and that Prince and Blanket talk often about trying to make him proud.

Katherine says she wanted to decorate Paris' room with pictures of flowers or ballerinas -- but "Paris went into a closet and she brought out seven or eight pictures of Michael, and she told me, 'No, I want daddy hanging in my room'. So she goes to bed looking at him and wakes up looking at him. She said, 'I always want to be able to see him.'"

Michael's mom goes on to say Paris is the most musically-inclined of the three and that Prince wants to produce movies.

This new interview comes days before the anniversary of Michael's death ... and in conjunction with a new book Katherine is selling (pictured above) containing pictures and Katherine's memories of Michael.

She says, "Michael was so misunderstood ... I treasure my memories of him and wanted to share them with his fans in my book. I remember when he brought gifts for me -- a watch, a necklace and a ring. I'll never forget how he smiled when I opened each one. He was so generous. I want the world to know that real Michael Jackson -- a loving person."

God bless this poor woman trying to raise all her grandchildren.
They should go to school and make friends and try to live a normal life.

So sad how they miss their daddy.

Just happened to run across this article on this sad site on google news. How pathetic of a person do you have to be to sit and judge a dead man, and his children's lives??? Dear God, 99% of you guys are stupider and more ridiculous than you'll ever realize. Get off of TMZ and go read a book or matter of fact... go do something wtih your life besides ignorantly comment on someone else's.

At first I felt it was another Jackson money making idea of Katherine writing a book about her son but I now realize it's her own way of healing. How genuine the book is will in the long run also benefit the kids who will forever mourn the loss of MJ. As for friends they are always going to have a hard time just as their father did finding true friends just by who they are. That doesn't mean they should isolate themselves but life is going to be lonely and hard for these poor little babes and the love they share for each other and the loving memeories of their father. How wonderful he brought them up will carry them through.

You're slagging the man and his kids off, he isn't even alive anymore. And whoever is making comments about Michael's surgery AGAIN, there are people who haver had far worse like Heidi Montag but are just allowed to slip through the net lookin' ridiculous and hella stupid. Leave the kids alone, and for God's sake, just leave Michael alone. RIP King of Pop

HELLO EVERYONE. Michael's kids misses him dearly. Michael provided a wonderful life for his children, on the other hand, Michael was being tortured in the media, he just didn't want his kids to go through the same thing, it is not American to attack kids but the media shows no limitations. Seriously, just put try for a second and put yourself in this type of situation, would you want your kids, nieces or nephews being laughed at and ridiculed. Katherine will most definitely help those kids bounce back the best way she knows how,

Is there no end to this MJ junk? They only using the children to promote more money for their greedy selves. Leave them out of the press and maybe someone would want to associate with them after the "creepy" home they lived in

Didn't they say in the other article that they had friends?...

When I saw Rebbie on the Today Show, and all the others at different times talking about how "great" the kids are doing.....It never really rang true. This story does. How could those kids not be lost and devastated. Their life as they knew it was ripped from them after breakfast one morning. They lived traveling the world and eating KFC with only one person. Those poor kids. The distraction of cousins and uncles could only delay their grief. We don't know if they're still shielded from the net and t.v. with regards to all of this. How many parental blocks are there. Can you block You Tube from your kids? Devastating.
In Michael's defense...his kids would be the most attractive to a kidnapper. The whole world knows he'd pay anything...He was also a single parent winging it the way you do when you're the most famous person like he was/is.

It's sad that they have to stay in the United States. They would have a much more normal life in Europe, here they will always be hounded. Their dad was smart to keep their faces covered in earlier times - that gave them a freedom that they don't have now.

By the way, 1 year isn't long enough to finish grieving for such a loss, particularly for someone you live with every day. I've heard counselors say figure on at least 3 years before things really normalize. Kids may fool adults into thinking that they're "over it" because they're playing etc., but they're not. My mother was 12 years old when she lost her mother, and she was devastated when she overheard relatives saying that she must be "over it" because she was trying to just go on as normal although aching on the inside. MJ's kids are on a normal schedule in this regard, they're just being more open about it. Which is a good thing.
