This new Spider Man reboot is a stupid idea. It is obvious some studio head saw how well Twilight is doing and thought they should try to copy it. Sorry, teenage girls are never going to be Spider Man's core audience and teenage boys, like everyone else, would prefer an adult Spider Man, not a teeny bopper one (I know the new guy is 26, but he's supposed to be a teen).

Spiderman wasn't a perpetual teenager, Geoff, get over yourself. He's been an adult for the majority of the story arc. What made Spiderman, was Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire conveys Peter Parker to me in the role. I don't want to see some Brit in the role, any more than I want to see the moronic idea DC has with the new Wonder Woman. Face it, it wasn't Britain out saving the world, nor has it been Europe, Russia, Latin America or China, or Japan. Those countries aren't what I think of when the term hero comes to mind.. and in all candor, it's not what comes to the minds of the foreign viewers in those countries either. I'll be passing on these new substandard rip offs.

i sorta agree with you #2 as iam a teenage girl and i dont fink there are many teen girls that are spidermans core audience. so they should aim it more at boys, i only like the spiderman movies coz of the story and not the spideys looks,certainly not tobeys lol he was not good looking!!. the fact is for this role they should place an adult male not some "cute" kid just to get the teens in. and if they were looking for a cute kid there were plenty of other better options!! lol. OH AND AT #4 as for him bein a brit i dont think you should be that ignorant and fink coz his british his not worthy to play a superhero coz we are u dumb yank!

i was never in to spiderman before these movies came out where Tobey Maguire had the leading role...I LOVE THOSE MOVIES!!!!!!!! I LOVE TOBEY MAGUIRE!!!!!!!! why fix something thats not broken?? ??? ?

HMMMMMM.....KIMBO, TOBEY WAS PERFECT FOR THE ROLE, HE WAS BELELIEVABLE, SPIDERMAN WAS NEVER A 'MODEL', HE WAS AN ORDINARY KID WHO GAINED EXTRTAORDINARY POWERS.
